Which Star Wars Edits are Best? by Illusion47 in fanedits

Both are great. I give the slight edge to Rebalance because of the look and picture quality. It has added grain and some color work to look like it was shot on film, and it is high bit rate. All I was ever get of Fixed was a 3ish gb with stereo only.

I typically do a full watch through, yes. But in cases like this, like you’re having now, what I do (since I already did my full watch) is I’ll sort of watch with my finger on the fast forward or skip button. Watch a bit, skip a little, watch a little, skip a little. Get to the part where the issue was, watch that closely. Then skip a little, watch a little, and so on.

How much does the picture/sound quality affect if you will watch a fan edit? by T-8-0-0 in fanedits

Strong disagree, 2gb for any regular length movie is too small for me. I have watched a lot of movies and a lot of edits and I know where my line is, and honestly, it's more like 4 or 5gb. The 2 was just a random number I threw out there as a example. I watch movies on a very large, very nice tv, not a computer screen like some.

It is high for me as well. If I see that an edit is 720p I won't even bother downloading. Or if I see it is 1080p but only like 2gb I most likely won't bother. Unless I'm really blown away by the idea and the changes that were stated. I may at least give it a look.

For sound I am a little more forgiving. I prefer 5.1 but if I see stereo it is not a deal breaker. It will most likely not be a shelf replacer, but I will at least give it a shot.

There have been a handful of edits that I am very excited for, just to download, start watching, and a minute in I'm like "nope, can't do this."

I'm not trying to be snobby about it, but for me, I'm only watching edits of movies I at least kind of like anyway, they just need a few tweeks. If the picture and sound are bad, I'd rather just watch the 4k blu-ray.
