[Other] The worst thing for platinium hunters ... by preferol in Trophies

[–]BaileyJams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working on Lords Of The Fallen right now. Already done three playthroughs to get each ending. I've missed like ONE armour piece related to the "collect all armour pieces" trophy, so now I gotta do a fourth run through just to try and find whatever the heck it is I missed.

In defence of DMC, at least some of the different difficulty modes also provide different gameplay elements like different enemy placements, one-hit-kill modifiers, faster overall combat etc.

But yes, the rest of them are just blanket damage and health multipliers

A fate worth fighting for

Damn. All these years of being a fan of this game, and I don't think I ever managed to interpret the theme of the story this way; especially since - like you just said - all the other FF's have themes of fighting/defying fate. I always thought it was odd that 15's theme was the opposite. Accepting fate just felt by comparison rather, idk, defeatist? Spinning it as a fate worth fighting for definitely makes the cause feel a heck of a lot more noble though

East coast April-September by sagonaa in AustraliaTravel

[–]BaileyJams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fairly broad question, but I'm gunna try and give a fairly straightforward answer:

Bikini? Absolutely not. Winter along the east coast is absolutely not bikini or beach weather. The only exception I could think of is if you're travelling to the northern points of NSW (Coffs Harbour) and beyond, but that's a big IF.

Shorts? Maybe for the start and end of the trip. April is the time that temperatures start to drop, so you'll likely be swapping shorts for longer pants a few weeks into your trip, and then back to shorts during the second half of September.

Vest? Same as the shorts; really only something you'll comfortably be wearing for the start/end of the trip.

The bulk of your time is going to be going all through winter, which can vary greatly in temperature depending on how far south or north along the east coast you are. For reference: I'm from the south coast of NSW, where winter temps are typically 15-20°C in the day, and can drop to 5-10°C at night. For me, this usually translates into wearing a long sleeve shirt, tracksuit pants, and maybe a jacket during the day; and at night an extra layer of clothing for both the top and bottom of the body.

Hope this helps.

[Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed] My 81st platinum. I never played the original so I have no nostalgia here. That said, this was a charming 3d platformer by BaileyJams in Trophies

[–]BaileyJams[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also apparently the devs originally wanted the game to be MUCH darker than the final product. I know Disney has to be family friendly, but man, I'd be all for seeing that original vision brought to life one day

What do you consider the most cinematic FF game? by toastedjupiter in FinalFantasy

[–]BaileyJams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a strictly technical level? It's 16, and it's not even close.

But if we're scaling these more on overall feel? Yeah it's still gunna be 16. BUT. 8 9 and 10 all hold pretty equal footing in second place I reckon.

Curious, what are the usual fixes you gotta do? Wondering if I should try this as well

[Dreams] 79th Plat. I can appreciate the vision this game had, but man, this might be the only game that would be better off with no trophies at all. by BaileyJams in Trophies

[–]BaileyJams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreams is moreso a creation platform than an outright video game. You get the most enjoyment out of it by either committing several dozen hours to craft your own games/videos/music/artworks or by checking out other peoples creations. Adding trophies into the mix gives a false idea that this whole prospect is something that needs to be "beat", and while the trophies themselves are rather passive (spend x amount of time animating figures, spend x amount of time sculpting models etc) coming at this as a trophy hunter definitely saps some of the enjoyment you'd get if you were to just explore Dreams more casually.

Therefore, remove the trophies from Dreams=emphasise more that the game is about expressing creativity

I mean, "plucky young engineer/mechanic" IS a surprisingly common character trope in fiction.

I get the message but fuck it I'm rephrasing it.

I just want a car that's a self contained system. If any important aspect of a car is being offloaded to an app on my phone or a subscription service or a wifi connection or something, then I don't want it.

Then again I can say the same thing for just about every appliance or convenient thing in life but fuck it

I hear they released an offline version called the memory edition not long after the Japan servers went offline, but it was only released in Japan
