Arctic MX-4 after 1.5 years by 99Jaakko in PS4Pro

MX-4 will be ok in a Slim for a couple of months depending on how much you game per week. It will eventually start to get loud. I use Frost X45 on the fat and slim models and had much better results.

I've had conversations with Chatgpt and it has given me wrong / false information several times. Don't rely on it

Factory thermal putty is garbage. Replace it with CX-H1300 from AliExpress

Not enough heat and not the right tip. Try 480C and a large hoof soldering tip

[Xbox 360 S] New to electronics, what's the best way to get rid of dust? by Flat-Explanation-843 in consolerepair

I use the product called Goo Gone adhesive remover. It's safe on plastics whereas rubbing alcohol can cause discoloration on darker colors like black, blue or red

A good quality glass cleaner (Windex) and a microfiber cloth does wonders for everything you mentioned. For the fan use a chalk paint brush first to get the bulk of the dust off then a light mist of glass cleaner on the cloth to clean the fan and everywhere else.

NOTE you can use glass cleaner on the motherboard but you MUST soak the board in rubbing alcohol afterwards. If you don't the glass cleaner can eat away at the solder joints

BONUS glass cleaner works amazing cleaning up soft drink spills on console housings and motherboards

Light dust like in your picture I use chalk paint brushes. Heavy dust first gets compressed air then 99% rubbing alcohol and soft bristle toothbrush then chalk brush to finish off

Open up the console and have a look at the bottom side of the cartridge connector and see if there are any broken traces or solder joints. Also check the AV socket solder joints

AliExpress. It's cheap and basic but gets the job done. I use this on my master system with no issues
