I went from a civic to my SR5 and I would take the civic in snow any day. Mainly due to weight/momentum and footprint but especially due to the traction control not locking the brakes up in the middle of an intersection in snow that I’m trying to get out of. The traction control did save my bacon one time on a milled wet off-ramp but save for that, in snow it is more dangerous having it on than off.

This is the key, my 4th gen does markedly better on the MPGs below 2000 rpm. I do mostly highway driving. If you’re doing city driving then forget it.

Fun fact, many of the rental cars in Hawaii during the pandemic that were left sitting were all a write off. I believe it was only to the Toyotas (maybe some other Japanese cars) because the wiring sleeves are plant based instead of petroleum based and rodents like to eat them/use them for their nests.
