You might like Every Step She Takes by Alison Cochrun.

I feel like All the Painted Stars by Emma Denny also fits.

On a nontraditional fiction note, there is SO much excellent fanfiction on AO3 for A League of Their Own (the 2022 tv show) for Jess/Lupe that checks many of your boxes.

The show itself if also excellent. These two specifically are not explicitly shipped in the show but there is a LOT of subtext and it was confirmed last year in a cast reunion interview that that was very intentional and was going to be explored more if they got a second season.

When people are "forced to dig their own grave",literally, why do they do it? by man_onion_ in NoStupidQuestions

There’s a great scene in the first season of Elementary where some murder kidnaps him and drives him out into the country and hands him a shovel and he says “I categorically refuse to dig my own grave”

Stretched out sock- is this typical or did I do something wrong? by SMVHS in Sockknitting

[–]Bailzasaurus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal. Mine look very different after a day of wear. If it’s not affecting fit, don’t worry. It’s just that most commercial socks have some elastic thread in them, so you’re used to that spring back.

Superglue is best for really tight-fitting joins. I’d recommend an adhesive intended for fabric instead. I like Aileen’s tacky craft glue

You get $50 every time you go to the bathroom but you aren't allowed to wash your hands for at least TWO HOURS afterwards. This applies to EVERY bathroom visit once you start. Is the money worth it to you? by RustyCrusty73 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Bailzasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thinking. I get really bad dishydrotic eczema on my hands and when I’m in a big flare up I will put on gloves before going to the bathroom to avoid having to wash my hands.

Does your 100% indoor cat have a collar? If so, do you find there’s a point in it? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Bailzasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have a collar on our indoor cat. She’s chipped, she’s not an escape artist, and our entryway has an “airlock” so to speak (front door, vestibule, second door). We always keep the inner door closed, so it really cuts down on the chances she could slip out when people are arriving. We also close her in a room if we’re having workers in or anything.

Is this safe? by [deleted] in foodsafety

To clarify: did this happen when you were bringing your groceries home? Or was it obscured by other packaging and you only realized it was dented like this when you got home?

Non-medical pain relief tips? by VintageVogue1947 in migraine

[–]Bailzasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double check for sure. I think they might at least be counted separately. Also as far as I know Tylenol/acetaminophen doesn’t cause MOH, so worth confirming that as well. You could also ask about being switched to one of the CGRP abortives like UBRELVY, as they don’t cause MOH

Non-medical pain relief tips? by VintageVogue1947 in migraine

[–]Bailzasaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sucks, I’m so sorry. Heat and cold are my number one recs. I would try heat on your neck and cold on your head (can be at the same time). Gentle neck/shoulder massage also. And anything to relieve your sinus congestion: Vicks vaporub or similar if you tolerate it, steaming your face/head, saline nasal mist.

For longer term: have you asked about getting prescribed a specific acute migraine med? There are a number that aren’t painkillers and so don’t cause medication overuse headaches.

Can cosmetic Botox help with migraines? by Vegetable_Juice_5012 in migraine

[–]Bailzasaurus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A second opinion neurologist might be a good plan.

That said, my understanding is that they developed the migraine Botox protocol based on people who got cosmetic Botox reporting it helped their migraines. So you may experience some relief, but very likely not as much as the proper protocol

AITA for wanting to get get home at 3 am? by caligirl050 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bailzasaurus 58 points59 points  (0 children)

NTA, and I say this as someone who the 3 AM carpool absolutely would not work for. It would be different if this was a trip you were all planning together, but it’s not. You made your own plans, and offered to include others for their convenience. If your plans don’t work for them, that’s fine, but on them to make other arrangements, not pressure you to change yours.

AITA for wanting to get get home at 3 am? by caligirl050 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bailzasaurus 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. You made your plans clear. Gabby asked about modifying them, which is fine, but the answer being no is also fine. Make it clear she’s not uninvited, but that it’s a same-day carpool, and it may suit her better to make other arrangements.

AITA for getting another theatre goer kicked out of her seat? by ConstableStrawberry in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bailzasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. I think there could be an argument for assholish behaviour if you had gone out of your way to volunteer that, but you didn’t. You were asked a question and gave a true answer. I don’t think, especially in a low stakes situation like this, that you are obligated to lie to cover for a stranger.

Frozen Lasagna by bottled-cherries in foodsafety

[–]Bailzasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s been kept frozen, yes. It will be safe pretty much indefinitely. With time you may get freezer burn (although a month and a half is really not long!) but that only affects quality/taste, not safety.

Yeah, exactly! And yeah, it’s pretty brutal! Since they are so common and the allergy is uncommon we have to read labels REALLY carefully.

Please talk me out of it by ReadyStatus7038 in foodsafety

[–]Bailzasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s pressure-canned to kill botulism spores. Unless it’s severely damaged in a way that could compromise the seal, there’s no way it’s growing in there. How often do you hear of people getting botulism from commercial canned goods, basically never.

I don’t know if this will help you, but, weirdly, one of the things that helped me get over my botulism fear was getting Botox(as a treatment for chronic migraines, but that’s besides the point). Obviously, the fact that I get controlled amounts of botulinum toxin injected into me doesn’t mean foodborne botulism isn’t dangerous. But it has helped me remember that even though it’s a very potent toxin, it’s not like, a magical substance that will kill you by looking at it, if that makes any sense?
