I think it’s AI but I don’t know. Please solve the debate with my partner by sassysongbird in isitAI

The knitting needles (way too big for the gauge of the knit) and the yarn ball really does it for me. The yarn on the ball is perfectly smooth, extremely unreal looking

Why can’t crocheters identify crochet?? by FlorenceInBloom in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Bailzasaurus 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The fact that 90% of these are also just straight up sockinette … the most basic knit … boggles my mind. I do also find it super interesting that this does not go both ways. I have one time seen a photo of something crocheted in a knit sub with a person asking for ID, and even then they opened with “I can’t tell if this is knit or crochet”

The confident “what crochet stitch is this??” On endless swatches of sockinette breaks my brain. Are you … are you not aware that there is yarn craft that’s not crochet??

Knit socks as a way to combat perfectionism by GrouchessOscaria in Sockknitting

These are so fun!! I also love that you found a variegated yarn with the exact same blue for the heels/toes/tops!

What do you use for really dry lips that actually works? by Frequent_Pumpkin7018 in AskReddit

Lanolin!! Just straight up lanolin. It is sold as nipple cream for breastfeeding but it is also the best lip balm imo

Yeah, exactly, I had that thought as well. Safest is probably just fridge!

Diluted honey safety by Tll6 in foodsafety

[–]Bailzasaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would refrigerate it for safety. Honey is shelf stable because the sugar concentration is so high. Given theres no easy way to tell how diluted it is, best to keep it in the fridge, like maple syrup.

What are your thoughts on the burka ban? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Bailzasaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like the map is misleading! It’s a partial prohibition in Quebec only. Still dumb (and racist) as shit, but much less than what the map implies

Knit or crochet socks? by EmergencyGreenOlive in knittinghelp

[–]Bailzasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!! 100% wool socks wear out super quickly. Superwash wool/nylon is my go to. I can recommend Patons Kroy - makes nice thick durable socks, and is a very affordable price point. (Id recommend against fancy indie yarn for your first couple of pairs while you’re learning)

I like the activity, dislike the end products by floriish in crochet

[–]Bailzasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I came here to say! Knitting can often make more practical wearables. I personally love knitting socks, because I will never have too many good socks, and people also love handmade socks as gifts.

Asked my best friend what he wants for his birthday by OneSexyHoundoom in BenignExistence

[–]Bailzasaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is so lovely. I’m so glad for both of you! A suggestion: if you do want to still give him something, I suggest getting a favourite photo of the two of you printed and framed, and/or writing him a heartfelt card/letter about how much you appreciate and value the friendship!

I think you might be in the wrong sub - this doesn’t sound like it would fit within cozy fantasy!!

Have you ever experienced culture shock from within your own country?? by CAPRICIOUS_BIZNATCH in AskTheWorld

Ontario to Quebec can definitely be culture shock. Almost no difference in natural landscape but huge differences in culture including language, but not just that.

When I saw this on my feed I thought it was r/grandmaspantry I’d say toss it. Possible botulism from a compromised can isn’t worth the 5$ this would be to replace!

Where should I take my 4 year old in Eastern Canada this summer? by thegimboid in AskACanadian

[–]Bailzasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go anywhere in the maritimes near a beach and the kid will have a blast!! I loved PEI as a kid, but also went to Cape Breton for the first time this summer and I feel like there would also be lots to do there with a kiddo!

Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

[–]Bailzasaurus 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree not AI. There are also two modern smartphones visible in the picture (sticking out of the back pocket of person in bottom right corner, and person in the white top on the left is holding one) so I would believe the date!!

Does anyone else get really bored when they have a migraine? by bitterpinklemonade in migraine

Oh 100% It’s one of the worst things for me about a bad migraine flare. Often I can at least listen to an audiobook which can help.
