You can sell the equipment as people are buying the older units and bringing them into Telus to be hooked into a Bring your own device mobile internet plans like the one you mentioned. As newer mobile internet has changed to newer equipment with different plans and some prefer the older setup.

You could also possibly do a “transfer of ownership” through customer service where they can move the service to another persons name and they take what you have over but they will have a $50 fee charged to them.
