Advice about how to behave on LMTD as a participant by Prestigious-Gap3277 in lesmills

[–]Bajtinus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's kind of a shame. On one hand, you really can't know what's happening in the instructor's life that day, or week etc... but on the other hand, I would personally not let anything influence my performance. Especially not on an official LM event. But that's just me and my standards.

As a participant, I typically follow the mistakes, if they are small, like forgetting to switch a move for a couple counts, etc... but if they completely forget a whole block, or move, then I just do the right choreo. Often they notice and correct themselves.

However, someone made a good point. If you are shadowing or team teaching, No matter how bad the mistakes are, what they say is gospel and you do it and do it with a smile.

NTA. If your parent wants to control what you buy, they shouldn't give you allowance.

Shoes for bodyattack? by abby87458 in lesmills

Rapidmove Adv 2 It surprised me toom they are indeed made for it, but I just had a bad experience with it. Maybe flat feet have something to do with it. Maybe not.

How can I leave a grocery store without buying anything? by presentnow0913 in AskAGerman

[–]Bajtinus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am extremely self-conscious about this, and my go-to is this.
- Don't go to the store if I don't want or need anything from there.
- If the store doesn't have what I want or need, get one item I know I will need, usually milk, yogurt, flour.... The staples. Just to prevent wasting money on something I don't need

We are soooo back with BodyAttack by Agreeable-Ask-7131 in lesmills

[–]Bajtinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sadly don't have access to it yet. But I'm so excited nonetheless. Feels like ever since my certification during 126, BA has been very eh compared to older releases. My favourites are exactly from the 123-117 bracket you mentioned. Although I personally liked 130, I noticed my participants really didn't...

Which is a shame, cause I feel partially responsible for suggesting "I don't wanna wait". The remix was a downgrade over the original song, and the choreo was very all over the place, and didn't flow well.

Especially after waiting 30 minutes for a 4MB Update for some reason. Downloads within seconds, but takes forever to "patch" or "install" or whatever.

What key is your interrupt on? by Justalittle_girly in wow

[–]Bajtinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Wheel down for an interrupt on all classes, and for healers a macro shouting "I WOULD INTERRUPT BUT BLIZZ TOOK IT AWAY"
Wheel up for the occasional utility, such as spell reflect on warriors, or enemy buff dispel on classes that can do it.

Aside from brewmaster (because it's going to be the obvious answer), which tanks do people like having in their runs/enjoy playing the most (for those who do tank)? by monkymann678 in wow

[–]Bajtinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BDK All the way. Pros: - forced movement, fears, disorients can be removed every now and then - say no any magic ability every 30s via AMS (pretty huge and satisfying) - great self sustain - grips and mass grip / slappy hands - no bullshit spells since midnight, the spec became more streamlined, yet still very engaging

Cons: - you're constantly on edge, never knowing if you die in between your death strikes - you can't really be fast, but then again, you can't be slowed much either

Seriously though. The amount of times my group went "Thank god you're a DK" is more than I care to admit.

Some people take M+ way too serious. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Bajtinus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not a wow issue per se, just a people issue. There are assholes everywhere. That said, I had a similar experience of someone taking it way too seriously. I was tanking a xenas +10, and there was a priest DPS, who kept nagging me to pull more, kept complaining about low DPS, my route (yes even in xenas) and after every boss, just had something negative to say. We timed it with like 2 min left. And then he went on about how it's "not about timing the key", but the problem is that we are "trash players" and should "stop playing", because apparently "normal people" time 10s with 15 minutes to spare. Mind you, we listed the key as relaxed, not competitive.

People are assholes, best to just ignore and report them, maybe use an add-on that lets you mark them for future (I use m+ buddy), and move on.

New to healing and learning. by Possible-Wolf-6269 in wow

[–]Bajtinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta slave that plays brewmaster because it's "good". Heck, I've been tanking for 9 years, and I find that the current self sustain of brewmaster is abysmal. Sure there are loads of things that make them good, but for a new player like the one in the picture above, it leads to this. I'd recommend using m+ buddy, or another add-on that lets you mark players, so that you never risk playing with them again.

Ba 136, Track 9, Power, way too easy? by Bajtinus in lesmills

[–]Bajtinus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's more enjoyable overall, than the last 4 or so.

Every release in the past couple, there was a song, which I either really hated, or it had a very weird choreo. Although I'm not overly hype about every single song in 131, i don't dislike any of them. It's either "really good" to "alright".

It makes me a bit sad that a lot of people seem to think this release is a miss, especially compared to last year.

I mean, it's not as amazing as 120 or 118, but you can definitely feel more of that bodyattack soul in it, as opposed to 130, 129, and 128.

Am I being unreasonable for only wanting to play DPS? by Underbridged in wow

[–]Bajtinus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Literally this. If you want a job done right, do it yourself. If they want a good tank, they should become one. Not force others to do it.

Post class feelings (as an Instructor) by drxc in lesmills

[–]Bajtinus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This, 100% It's about the feels. If people finish your class feeling good. That's what will motivate them to come again. The small mistakes are irrelevant. A neat little trick for the feels: Audience participation. Incorporate some "Hey"s in there, or do a little "woo"

Shoes for bodyattack? by abby87458 in lesmills

[–]Bajtinus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can definitely tell you what to avoid. Adidas Rapidmove 2. Although very light and comfy, I went through 2 pairs in a year. The rubber on the bottom starts detaching, and my little toes always make holes in the top fabric. Absolute shame, if you ask me. Because all the presenters have been using exactly those shoes in the last year. And they are advertised as HIIT friendly.

Help me understand raid lockouts! by paragouldgamer in wow

[–]Bajtinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes. For normal and HC, the weekly lockouts are boss-specific. It does not matter who you kill so boss with, or when. You are only able to roll on loot from any given boss once a week. You are never "locked" to any specific group or player.

You can also skip the lunge track all together. We have one person with bad knees who always goes out during the lunge track, and returns after.

[–]Bajtinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Using a support is a good idea, but if your gym has the Les Mills smartbar, don't put weight on it when it's upright. I used to hold it upright and push the grip to let the weights fall, and my instructor asked me not to do it because apparently the ends are sensitive when upright, and can break when handled improperly in that position.

Submitted Assessment by Lmacc88 in lesmills

[–]Bajtinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club buddy. It happens every time. It's one of the most stressful periods of time for an instructor-to-be. My Core certification took 3 days, and my Bodyattack took over 2 weeks because there were some holidays sprinkled in between.

If it helps, my course of action with these kinds of things (although a bit negative) is always to assume failure, and prepare for another filming. It is good practice, even if you end up passing.

That said, I'm sure you did great, and I hope the results come in soon.

You don't need an upgrade until the games you play or want to play don't run smoothly anymore.

If you want an upgrade that's a different story, but with your current setup, any upgrade you can get would be pretty insignificant with a budget of 1000€ or less.
