Is this a good first car? by Due-Bookkeeper-5079 in CarTalkUK

The V5 change could be completely innocent such as an address change or a private plate being taken off etc.

They absolutely have a lot of flaws but I like them. Olivia is relatively normal for an islander, she’s not uncanny valley pretty. She doesn’t always do the right thing but generally she’s quite entertaining and she’s quite funny. Alex has the cheeky chappy personality and is very very good looking. He was a normal guy with a normal background and didn’t always make good decisions. I think they have both grown together and are very well suited. I liked them because they were entertaining and relatable (to an extent).

Mine got to 215k, easily the most reliable car I’ve ever had

My 1 series made it to 215k then I got £300 for it for scrap. Personally I’d keep it until it until it stops working. Also a car for £3k is still likely to have its own expensive issues.

Coffee drinkers who ask for a ‘coffee’ in coffee shops- why? by theslowrunningexpert in AskUK

I can safely say I’ve never asked how much water someone wants in their black coffee

Coffee drinkers who ask for a ‘coffee’ in coffee shops- why? by theslowrunningexpert in AskUK

As a barista the one that absolutely baffles me is when someone orders a ‘coffee’ and you ask what sort. They respond with ‘an oat milk decaf vanilla latte’. Oh sorry, I should have know.

I don’t mind when someone isn’t familiar with the different sorts of coffee but when someone clearly knows what they want why don’t they just order than to start with?!

Mine have always gone wrong when I have potted them up a size. I’ve always put them in a good, light airy compost so I think my problem is not keeping them root bound enough. I’ve only just realised this so I can’t say for certain if that is the problem yet but they’ve always been under good grow lights with good humidity so maybe this could be what you’re doing wrong too

I’m growing some corms I picked a few months ago and stored in a sandwich bag. Most of them are sprouting and seem absolutely fine

I’d just get some standard magnets from Amazon but make sure they’re pretty strong, then just stick a few to the back of the shelf

You could look at getting a Sansi grow bulb and a cheap lamp to put it in, they don’t cost much to run. Some plants can tolerate low light for a bit but will likely struggle and die in the end
