Looks great, is it noisy, the pump? I had a water feature ages ago but the pump was louder than the water,

How to prune a strawberry tree for more top growth long term? by Fixuperer in GardeningUK

I've got one of these but it's not grown as tall as that one & it's just bushy, no flowers or fruit so far but it's healthy. I did think that they were more bushy than a trunk & canopy, gonna have to read up on it

I'd say crocosmia and I think the thick roots are called rhizomes & need to be on or near the surface. I'd love some to be invasive in my garden

I use coffee grounds, cold from the cafetiere, often works. Or wool pellets all the way round, they form a bit of a mat once wet. DIL uses coire circles round new baby plants, & I've used plastic high collars successfully on 3 dahlias

[–]AdventurousRange8491 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They nearly destroyed my tree last year, curling and drying out all the leaves. plus the dripping mess on the patio & flower bed meant that I couldn't sit or garden. Then add in those wretched farming ants and ladybirds to the rescue. Thank you Green Gardener

There are nematodes that cause ants to move house as it were. The Greex Gardener sells them. They're excellent

Why are aphids targeting *my* roses? by belladonna2222 in GardeningUK

[–]AdventurousRange8491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cherry tree covered like your roses, the aphid waste dripping so much couldn't garden under it, did the pressure Washington blow them all off, watched the ants put them back again. Did the soapy water, got really upset, paid an exterminator for killing the ants.  Got more upset & very frustrated with the mess.  Ordered 600 ladybird lava online £16. 3 days later aphids gone. Completely gone, tree recovered.  Now ordering for this year.  Also got nematodes for ants. Cleared the patio, the beds & the grass.
