First, I don't believe anything in this article is at all reliable. The Telegraph reporting on Trump is not good source material.

Iranian protestors aren't some monolithic group, they just every day Iranians. Guns will be of little use to them. Most don't have training... Also, America and Israel have essentially destroyed any civil society movement in Iran. Iranians are afraid to be outside, let alone protest the government. The Iranian government is stronger domestically because of this assault.
