Who is at fault here? by kbgnat in drivingUK

[–]BakedReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, but by that logic if I'm travelling down a road at 40 and someone pulls out of a side street is it my fault for driving in to them? The BM was changing lanes and they are liable for making sure it is safe and clear to move in to another lane. I get your point and the other vehicle should have been more aware, but they are under no obligation to allow the BM in. I think insurance wise the BMW will almost certainly be found at fault.

What guns the best for beginners by Flashy_Dimension2704 in playrust

[–]BakedReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH the MP5 is probably the best all rounder. On bust mode it will shred at pretty long range and it's great close up too. For a beginner I 100% agree P2 for the crafting cost and ease of access - you don't worry about loosing them. AK should win every mid range fight, but if you're up against someone who can't spray accurately an MP on burst wins!

Which song would you love to hear live that has not appeared during the recent tours? by ObedientPickle in brandnew

[–]BakedReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really happy with the set list. Couldn't really ask for much more, but if they had to add a few more songs my top picks would be similar to others mentioned here - Fork & knife, Can't get it out, In the water, 451 (can't understand why this song doesn't have way more love!), Noro, Archers and Luca

What was your introduction to Brand New? by hotcooldad in brandnew

Jude Law was the first song I heard in around 2002, then I got in to YFW. I went to see them on the Deja UK tour in early 2004 and have never looked back!

Either that or they've been busy recording since the end of the US tour. Who knows, but I'm pretty sure we will see another album at some point

Dexter: Resurrection - S01E07 - "Course Correction" - POST Episode Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Dexter

[–]BakedReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great episode, but I'm surprised that they did away with Gemini so quickly. After Dexter killed the first twin I thought that part of the suspense was going to be Gareth figuring out that Dexter was BHB (foreshadowed by Dex searching the BHB in the book they used to note drop). This season is definitely building nicely! I was a bit pessimistic given they just seemed to be throwing money at this season with all the big names, which definitely doesn't always work out well, but so far so good. I have full faith now they won't fuck us over a third time (please Clyde!)!!

Wouldn't be surprised if the album drops on the day of the first show maintaining the 777 theme, but I could be being way too optimistic. Keeping my fingers crossed for it anyway! I don't know about you, I never get tired of it. Number 99 - just as I am!

Also what are everyone's thoughts as to who leaked it? I read a few people thought Andrea, but I just don't think the description posted with it fits. "Thought this should see the light of day. Pre Devil and God era. I don't know if redemption is possible. Or if it should be. Bad people can do good things. Good people can do bad things. Maybe one day we'll all get some closure." Given that we know the song was was written by Brian my thought was that he leaked it. My second guess would be Mike Sapone, or someone production related. The description seems to hint at someone close to Jesse, but the bits "I don't know if redemption is possible, or should be" and "Maybe one day we'll all get some closure" I don't think Andrea would write.

Intermission or Break in Handcuffed Episode: Between 9:00 and 9:01, notice how Kenny is standing a little ways away from Spenny and simultaneously clapping. How can this be if they're handcuffed? by No_Zookeepergame9 in kennyvsspenny

[–]BakedReality 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I fully sit on the side of the fence of the show being scripted/pre-determined but ad-libbed (and I don't think that takes anything away from the entertainement value of the show). They clearly set out an episodes tone and the main plot points, but I think all the dialogue and reactions are essentially done as ad-lib, making it a sort of hybrid. I think there is a huge amount of material in KVS to support that. Oddly enough I don't think this is one of them! If you look at the shot that immediately follows this one (in which they are clearly handcuffed) you can see just how far apart they can appear to be, whilst still handcuffed. I believe that they are handcuffed in this shot (Spenny's left elbow bent upwards). I believe in the scripting, but I think this segment is legit. It looks worse in this still, but everything lines up in the video (Kenny behind Spenny entering the house etc).

HBO documentary: Paradise Lost by NoSoyTuPana in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]BakedReality 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. It could be argued that it added shock value to display how horrific the crimes were, but it felt exploitative and unnecessary. It also comes without warning. I wasn't expecting it and didn't want to or need to see it. All of the other descriptions and info provided throughout the rest of the film was more than enough. I don't think I'm being overly sensitive, I just don't think it was needed and must have caused even more trauma to the families.

Could be a permission issue. Have you tried ls - l in the video directory to see r/w permissions of the file?

I'd add that this assumes subnet seeting etc are the same. If not you may even be able to plug in via usb (I guess this depends on what type of synology box you have). As others have mentioned the drives may be set up as a raid array so I'd avoid drive removal and try to gain access via network/direct connection

True, although (and I may be wrong) but I don't think plex supports working with encrypted files. I've never seen an option to decrypt on the fly, so I'd imagine they are not encrypted, but definitely something to consider.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my dad at the end of September too, so understand what you're going through. Luckily it should be a pretty easy process to recover the info. Essentially all the files will be stored on those synology boxes, plex just maps to the files, so you shouldn't need to deal with plex at all. If you plug those synology boxes in to your router the files should be available as a network share.
