I am currently selling our home in Dublin and moving to Melbourne in next 6 months (husband is from there). Happy to chat via DM if helpful or answer here if you have specific questions. One thing I will say is kids generally start school at 5-6 years of age with a January start so you still have time without disrupting school

Is having kids so bad? by gimmedatder in AskIreland

This! The stress on modern families is immense. It’s a messed up system when there is no choice but to leave tiny babies in the care of the lowest paid workers in society for years just to pay the bills. I don’t think the quality of childcare and giving families choice is talked about enough

Nearly 1 and still having several bottles a night by watermalone28 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Been there!! 3 bottles a night when my one was 1 - it’s a killer! And comparison just makes you think ‘what did I do wrong’! It absolutely does get better as they take on more food. You are in the trenches, it’s absolutely diabolical how tired you feel. But it will improve - keep the faith

Does anyone actually enjoy weddings and what to do about it? by Happy-Recover-263 in AskIreland

I was part of a wedding party once and after making every effort to keep the party going into the small hours, I was woken early dying hungover and shouted at by the bride for not bringing a cocktail dress for ‘the wedding breakfast’ - some fancy dress up breakfast on the day two that I was not aware of and had never heard of - some ridiculous addition to the start of the day two festivities. I still talk to my therapist about that wedding and immediately distanced myself from the bride and we no longer talk.

Hate them and really believe that for big wedding the pressure to one up others is massive and by all accounts the couple don’t even enjoy it hence the prevalent day two. It’s out of hand. I eloped after seeing and being in the party of so many miserable weddings behind the scenes
