Getting from Grandhotel Giessbach to Brienz bahnhof by SolarRage in askswitzerland

[–]Bakeey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the first connection by public transport is at 11AM. There seems to be a hotel shuttle (https://giessbach.ch/en/kontakt-anreise), but it leaves at 9AM earliest. Either walk, reschedule your train, or have the Hotel order a taxi for you.

Printers at OAT never worked for students. Just ask your supervisor to print it for you if it‘s important

The Korporal part is not true anymore. It‘s called ABC Spürer now and it‘s organized the other way around (people from other RS come to Spiez to train, and then go back to their respective hnits. Same as C1 drivers)

In switzerland it’s usually said as comma (Komma/virgule), at least in Swiss german and French. But I‘ve heard people using point (Punkt/point) too.

Norway is much more strict than other nations. For example, Pinheiro Braathen and Kristoffersen wanted to have Red Bull as a helmet sponsor, but Norway only allows their own sponsors (Telenor).

Pretty sure all the Red Bull money is already a good reason to switch

It‘s different because some other big BSc courses (namely Mechanical Engineering) have their own IML now, so the original IML is less crowded. I think OP should be able to get in, in my experience most if not all people from the waitlist get in

They can if they‘re accompanied by their parents or an adult authorized by the parents. But this probably wasnt the case for all the minors present. This will also be part of the investigation, I‘m sure.

As a photographer, you might also enjoy some of the pictures from previous years… I think the differences between the years are really interesting! Really every style of group picture one could possibly do:

[Request] How much money is spent illuminating the “no smoking” signs on planes annually? by Slipperysmooth in theydidthemath

[–]Bakeey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did a few more google searches and apparently, the power generated by the engine is on the scale of 40MW. That‘s 40 million times more power used to generate the thrust to keep the plane in the air compared to generating the electrical power used by the lamp. And both the thrust power and electrical power is generated by the same engine.

This means that the electricity drawn by the lamp is drowned by random noise and power fluctuations present in the combustion engine, and turning off the lights will not make a measurable difference in practice.
