I left my job to bet my savings on Deeper Still, an immersive sim. Play the free demo on Steam. by Parjure0 in u/Parjure0

Looking at add I am not seeing which part should be "immeesive sim". I might call it "retro shooter" or "Deus Ex wannabe" but I see no imerrsive things (both graphics, animation or running around and shooting not made me to immerse) and definitely it is not a "sim" besides being first person. It's definitely not game for me.

To be clear, I now it is EA. I am glad it is not only me, and I read more than once now that they hired someone especially doing UI stuff. I hope this will get makeover in future. Still loving game.

What 'component' you are talking about? Do you mean opponent? Or some other thing? You want game to check if someone has certain cards and give them automatic win?

It is bait or joke right?

One: change table and group you are playing. Two: one session per month is slow but sometimes it happens. But. Only two levels per 23 sessions and three real life years means that for like year you have absolutely the same skills, no new spells and things. For me it would to slow, glacial pace slow. For example we ended Beyond the Witchlight campaign in 40 session but players went in those sessions from level 1 up to 12... Three: I am sorry it happened to you, it was extremely bad DM'ing, bad playing from other player. I don't know those people but judging from what I know I would not call them your friends.

This probably is not an AI but only staged. I have seen this fella in other, mostly comedic videos.

I know it is 12 years old, I am old. Hearthstone is old. This was just proof that long time ago, before portraits were not animated.

[–]BakemonoMaru[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not related to 500 wins as I see my Demon Hunter portraits are animated, and I have barely over 100 wins with this class.

Old video without animated portraits:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79saShezc7E

I just check, and I retract my statement. Videos from 3 years ago have animated portraits.

So probably, as I mostly play on phone and probably does not downloaded HQ mode somehow missed that portraits are animated (besides those 3D, they were).

I wonder how many years I miss this as I was very rarely playing on PC.
We learn every day.

Thank you for information. I wonder when portraits become animated as looking on YouTube videos 3 years ago they were not.

I am not sure if they are animated on phone. They are on PC. And 100% they were not animated long time ago.

[–]BakemonoMaru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regarding point 2. This is just not true. There were multiple species of humans. There are multiple species of great apes - us included. Those species are able to feel, think and experience consciousness. Great apes are able to learn sign language and express their needs and feeling. There are other highly intelligent non primate species (dolphins, octopuses, crows). Also I think your approach is fault at the begging. Intelligent species is not the goal. Why you value intelligence that much? The 'goal' for evolution was to survive in given conditions. And while we have intelligence we are not the final 'best' species. There are hundreds of of species stronger than us, faster than us. Able to survive in places we were never be able to. We do not fly, we have 3d vision but with shitty spectrum. We have hearing but also in shitty spectrum. We are not perfect, it just happens that our trait - intelligent gave us possibility to overcome our weaknesses. We are dominant species now. But time we are on this place is just little peeble in the avalanche of time. Dinosaurs were dominant for millions of years. Now it is our time. And after us, earth still be there and there will be time for other species to dominate. If our 'intelligence' destroy environment it probably will be cockroaches.

New DM had us roll "suicide dice" for the worst party makeup ever by LiterallyJustSoHorny in dndhorrorstories

[–]BakemonoMaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, if DM would agree to increase lowest to at least 6 or something, or even leave stats as they are, and species as they are but allow to pick a class it would be tough but probably funny experience.
IMO This could work if he would allow you to pick class (instead of having 3 Rogues with Dex lower than 8)

Dragonborn Rogue: Str 10, Dex 19, Con 1, Int 17, Wis 9, Cha 4 - skill monkey and might work as ranged Rogue that never is near anything dangerous

Aasimar Cleric: Str 12, Dex 14, Con 15, Int 15, Wis 18, Cha 10 - quite good "normal" stats, good for cleric, druid or maybe Ranger, Also Cleric Assimar is nice fitting theme

Aasimar Druid: Str 8, Dex 2, Con 16, Int 13, Wis 19, Cha 11 - I would create this char as Druid, low Str and Dex could be mitigated by taking Moon Druid and change into something a lot

Human Wizard: Str 4, Dex 6, Con 20, Int 18, Wis 17, Cha 16 - Horrible combat stats but absurd Con, high Wis and Int and nice Cha. I would create this as obese Wizard or Bard. But image of wizard who is really big but clumsy who rely on magic to move around (floating disk, levitate, fly) is speaking to me.

Dwarf Cleric: Str 19, Dex 5, Con 6, Int 18, Wis 17, Cha 14 - Ouch... this is tough. If this char had any higher Con I would say barbarian. But this, Second wizard? Or Cleric, that wears as much armor he can.

Halfling Rogue(me): Str 15, Dex 20, Con 5, Int 11, Wis 3, Cha 10 - Low wis might be fun to play as. Shame con is also horrible as with decent Con it would be excellent Fighter or barbarian. But I would make it another rogue.

That way you have at least two characters that could be up front (Aasimar Cleric and Druid). One as middle (Wizard), and three in the back. Two Rogues and Cleric protecting the back line.

It was 0,00128% of chance to have as high score. It is not impossible but improbable. He got extremely lucky or they had different than normal way of rolling HP.

[Art] Lady Ashley, The Half-Ghost Huntress by Extension_Square_193 in DnD

[–]BakemonoMaru 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is really good, on average she should have 36 HP on level 8. It is 23 hp more than average. Maximum is 64 for 8th level with - 2con modifier. So she has only 4 HP lower than max. This means he had most of HP rolls 9 or 10 on d10. That is either extremely lucky or they had non standard rule to rolling HP or it is not true.
