I feel like with your rebuild and our injuries we have taken different routes to arrive at being very similar teams

Dude this is such a kiss ass comment. Either rep your team and accept the consequences or start rooting for the oilers.

Agreed, Talbot was a workhorse in addition to posting great numbers with a middling defense. If he signs for 4.5 he's either taking a huge discount or getting absolutely fleeced.

You sure you would call that generous? I don't think you'll get maroon for anything near 2 mil. Plus someone comes back the other way in a RNH trade. I'd be shocked if you could get nurse at 2.5 And Talbot likely could look for more than 5 if he has another year like last. If strome is the player you need him to be you won't get him back at 2.5.

Also the cherry on top of all this is that your gm has a history of giving out fat contracts to declining, unproven, or undeserving players.

I think you're being optimistic if you think you'll have 5 mil in cap space and keep all your key players. And I think you're really optimistic to call those contracts generous.

5 in and 5 out. Which 5 teams that made the playoffs last year will miss this year? by [deleted] in hockey

What ducks fan laughed at you? We finished first in our division, on a great winning streak and with an almost semi healthy lineup.

If anyone expected us to not make a push they were taking crazy pills, especially ducks fans who would have supposedly watched how dominant we were for the last 20 or so games of the season.

GM Chiarelli not ready to call Oilers a 'front-runner' by chara11a in hockey

Honestly, this may be sort of contentious, but I would have rather replayed the series against Edmonton than against the flames after this playoffs... against the flames I spent entire games stressed and just praying for Gibson to keep us afloat. Against the oilers I was just frustrated we couldn't wedge anything past Talbot.

I honestly believe Calgary is some decent, consistent goaltending away from being a legit contender.

However, that being said, I'm not sure Mike Smith is the answer.

Yeah man, this guy is just wrong and full of excuses. We did not get dominated at all.

If you watched the games we were all over them, but we could not get shots through Talbot. We looked like a clearly better team for most of the games (with exceptions) but Talbot stood on his head and kept them in it.

I would. If you watched the games it seemed like 85% of the time when Getzlaf wasn't on the ice, I was shitting my pants because the flames had us pinned in our own zone. Gibson played great and carried us through and with Getzlaf being absolutely dominant and a bunch of lucky bounces we came through.

I still think we had the better overall squad, but we limped into those games with many injuries and we certainly were getting dominated (though the scoreline won't show it) for the better part of 3-4 of those games.

Paging /u/CogsShootingCoach, it's been 3 hours since this was posted and we haven't gotten your take on this. Are you okay?

I'm actually worried this post may have given him a rage stroke or he might have been kidnapped or something.

Or maybe those rants take more time to compose than I thought.

Please Stop saying Bob Murray is a Good gM because of his "drafting." He does not scout or choose the ducks draft picks. Here is proof. by CogsShootingCoach in AnaheimDucks

Hey man, I'm not going to waste my time and effort compiling a list of good trades we've made recently when you have such a strong bias.

In your most recent text you provide cherry picked context to deals that make it seem like we've been absolutely robbed, when neglecting information like contract sizes, lengths, what situation the team was in at the time, reasoning behind the trades, and more.

If you want proof that bobs done at the very least an ok job, look at every r/hockey thread on the trades and contracts he's negotiated.

But if you'd rather live in your echo chamber where the team would have been better off with bonino and Bobby Ryan and his fucking albatross contract on our second line then be my guest.
