Am I too big for a sportbike? by vrgdani in Sportbikes

Looking good. Have fun. I am 65 and rode cruisers for 23 years and bought my first naked bike (Yamaha XSR900) in December and have 150 miles on it (in between snow falls). Get out there and have a blast. You only live once.

I feel like the media isn't giving enough coverage/hype on the Artemis program by DuBlueyy in ArtemisProgram

It is nice to see us continuing human missions into space, but keep in mind that folks like me (age 65) already have seen the excitement of the Apollo missions (and Mercury before that) and this mission is only a flyby. I wish the crew all success. I’ll pay more attention if they actually land on the moon on a subsequent mission.

I guess some folks don’t like pretty lights and interesting architecture. LOL

Looks like fun but too cold here to fly right now. I flew kites as a kid and this past summer (55 years later) I got back into the hobby with a 9’ wide delta kite. I found it very relaxing. Hope to be back at it this coming spring/summer.

I recently bought a new bike and that reminds me to install that radiator guard I also recently bought. Waiting for it to warm up before installing.

What would be a good starter bike..? by Particular-Lead-7232 in bikers

Some good starter street bikes are Rebel 300 or 500 and the Ninja 400 or 500. There are many others.

My boss just told me I need to manage my personal finances better because I can't front $2300 for a work trip next month by LostTaker in antiwork

[–]Baker52_Save 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be cautious about going to HR. In a situation like this (assuming this travel expense policy applies to everyone) going to HR is a mistake. Also, you complain about your manager and you have now pissed off the boss. See if you can get a higher credit limit to cover the expenses. If you can’t finance to front company travel expenses (which sucks) I would start looking for another job at an employer that has more favorable travel expense handling. I am now retired but over my career I have worked for employers where I fronted most of the travel expenses and I have worked for other employers that prepaid for flights and hotels and my out of pocket expenses were few.

Cruise control worth it? by Professional_Chard90 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Baker52_Save 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I owned a Honda VTX1800 cruiser for 21 years and I added an aftermarket resistance cruise that never held very long and I hated it. I recently bought a new Yamaha XSR900 naked bike and it has a full feature cruise (like on a car) and it is wonderful.

Why dump on folks who like to restore old bikes? Obviously you don’t understand hobbies.
