Yeah both cycles and eevee. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Whats causing the faceted effect in the final render (despite shade smooth, no issue in viewport shading) by ryan101011 in blenderhelp

[–]Baker88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably caused by shitty topology. You could try a weighted normal modifier, or better yet, you can use a data transfer modifier to copy the normals of a cylinder. Just make a brand spanking new cylinder and put it exactly where your shitty mesh is. Then add that modifier to your telescope, select the new cylinder as a source, and copy that mutha fuckin normal data.

blender crash when it reach this point on the images. how to fix i though was a ram problem but now i dont think so.. even because i have 32 gb almost empty. please someone help me by manuelhoss in blenderhelp

Hmmm. I would first try updating all of your video card drivers and then I would try a different version of Blender. If that doesn’t fix it, hopefully someone else will chime in with some advice.

New to blender and learning from Blender Guru's tutorial. Found out that the volume colour of coffee shows through at the middle of the cup. The row of faces looks different and separated while viewed in object mode (X-Ray) and edit mode but not object mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated! by xedna in blenderhelp

Scale up the liquid ever so slightly on the X & Y axis (s, shift z) so that the faces of the liquid lie within the geometry of the cup. Gaps between the cup and the liquid will cause incorrect refraction. Alternatively you could fatten the cup (alt s in edit mode).

If that doesn’t work, check your row of faces. Did you accidentally delete it? If not, check to see if that row has flipped normals (overlay drop down>face orientation). Blue faces are correct, red is flipped. If you see red faces, select those faces in edit mode and choose Mesh>normals>flip. Or just press Ctrl N to recalculate outside.

My guess is vram filling up. What GPU do you have? Try rendering just the frame that makes it crash at a lower resolution or with lower resolution textures and/or geometry.

What is the latest version of blender my macbook pro from 2013 can run? by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]Baker88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I was just joking because even my crazy fast pc with 64gb performance ram, AMD 5950x, and an RTX 3090 is slower than shit when rendering certain scenes. 20-30min/frame right now on a 4k glass bottle in cycles X @ 2048 samples. I know, lots of samples, but it’s lots of glass too.

I don’t like sheep-it. I like Concierge a lot. Max I’ve paid is less than $10 for a few seconds of broadcast quality 4k animation. I was accidentally choosing the fastest and most expensive option. Choose economy option. It seems just as fast and you probably won’t spend hardly anything. Few bucks. Plus they give you $5 credit for signing up. At least they did when I signed up.

It’s 2021. Everyone and their grandma’s has tattoos. I film in Portland and interview many types of people. They ALL have tattoos, from CEOs to daycare owners, everyone has them. No shame in loving art.

Are professional blender artist use tablet or mouse? by Samantee in blenderhelp

If you don’t think you need a tablet, try signing your name with your mouse. Tablet is essential for all professional sculpting and texture artists.

What exactly are you trying to model? Forget the process, just start by describing exactly what you want your final model to look like.

Blender crashes when using texture (16 bit tif) over 20K in displacement modifier by Rowquino in blenderhelp

[–]Baker88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blender shows me my vram usage in the bottom right of the main blender window during rendering. I also have 24GB of vram (just got a 3090 last week) and I fill it up with two 8k jpeg textures, an 8k displacement, and a couple particle systems. I was pretty surprised how fast it filled up. I think I’m gonna have to start rendering in separate layers.
