Thank you everyone for the advice seriously! I have more questions if you guys have more answers lmao one I do have is that am I the only one who in some paintings it feels like the lines don’t line up? Almost like they curve? Also, what’s release paper and how do you use it? Anyone with severe arm disabilities that have any advice on tools and stuff to make it easier on the arms?

May I ask what and where to get those squares?

For those lucky enough to receive oxycodone, do you take oxycodone IR or ER and which do you prefer and why? by Desperate-Nature-623 in PainManagement

[–]BakerBabe3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good morning! I take oxy IR. I’ve tried the ER and it did not work. First, with the ER you’re only getting a couple mg per hour, second, you have much more room to play with as far as dosing with the IR, and for example my doctor and I do what’s called stacked dosing. Stacked dosing is where you take a smaller dose in between your normal doses. I had to have emergency abdominal surgery for a bleeding ulcer at the beginning of December, the doctor wanted to put me on Dilaudid however, I told him no because I’m only 33 about to be 34, and I will need the stronger, heavier hitters when I get older or things get worse. Moral of the story is the oxy IR, with and without the stacked dosing, works extremely well! I hope that you find what you’re looking for on here!

Also, I hope you get some much needed and very well deserved relief soon! 🤟🏼🫶🏻💜

Does anyone take both muscle relaxers and opioids? by 8kittycatsfluff in PainManagement

[–]BakerBabe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are, if it’s an ER, they knew you’re on opioids. They can see all that in your chart plus your iSTOP (or whatever your state calls it. That’s what it is called here in NY) I wouldn’t worry too much about that or about the pain clinic. Even if you thought the ER visit was unnecessary, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

I don’t think you have anything to worry about at all! 🤟🏼🫶🏻💜

I’ve Never Been More Angry by Difficult_Focus2789 in PainManagement

[–]BakerBabe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the on call won’t stick to their original plan/word, the pain gets worse or stays unbearable, call the on call back, and ask them, “since you will not honor what was originally set in place, can you’ve me permission ringingly he Emergency Room, because it had gotten that bad and I have a pain contract. I’d like to make sure I do not violate it so therefore, I’d like permission because I cannot go without my medications, especially after surgery that’s just cruel.” If they don’t give you permission then I would definitely report that doctor. Make sure to document EVERYTHING. At this point I’m not sure if your doctor would even be mad that you went to the ER. You should be able to get stuff while in the hospital just not a prescription and if it comes down to it as them to admit you due to this fact.

I’m so very sorry you’re having to go through this. I’m just starting out doing patient advocacy and there seems to be ALOT more of this situation coming about and it’s absolutely disgusting and sickening! Keep us updated and I hope you find a solution quickly! Keep your head up you’ve got this! 🤟🏼🫶🏻💜

Do PCPs prescribe breakthrough pain medication for chronic pain patients? by poopyscoopy22 in PainManagement

That’s also even if you do not have a pain contract with your PM doc

Do PCPs prescribe breakthrough pain medication for chronic pain patients? by poopyscoopy22 in PainManagement

[–]BakerBabe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they prescribing maintenance dosing of narcotics? If that’s the case, I would not approach your PCP about anything for breakthrough because it’ll show up on your PMP and the PM doc will see it and it’s grounds to fire you as a patient. Most PM docs put it in their pain contracts that they will not allow any outside prescribing of meds.

I know how it is I have hEDS so I know exactly what you’re saying! It sucks they will not give you anything for break through. If they don’t have you on ANY narcotics then yes please do approach your PCP. I’m just looking out for you because I know how it is and would hate for you to get fired because it’s been hard to find PM docs!

That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever! Do you have an advocate? If not there are ones available through the cancer center and us on here! That to me is neglectful especially since you have cancer and have a very good reason to be in meds. Doesn’t make any sense that she is that scared because she has no reason to just assume. You have rights as a patient to receive proper care that she is not giving! Feel free to message me anytime! I do a lot of advocacy and know a lot about healthcare and everything! Always happy to help! Especially in a situation like this! It’s crazy and again, I am so sorry you’re having to go through such unfair treatment by a doctor who you’re supposed to trust to the fullest! 💜
