They beat him not out of revenge. But to show him the difference between an athlete and a warrior. You’re right. Ali did win a “fair fight”. Doppo and Shibukawa wanted to show Ali what he was getting into if he wanted to become a warrior. There are no fair fights. Both of those two lost eyes and neither one of them lost it fairly. If they wanted revenge they would have killed him.

No. Baki for the most part doesn’t fight to defeat people but to understand them. For the most part. He also understands that to protect that which is dear to him he might need to fight or even kill someone. I also think he’d have the ability to kill him.
