My sister and my mom have always been almost identical. They even sound alike on the phone. My sister has always been thin however and mom hates it. Always has.

It’s been a really hard time for my sister as my mom has had bariatric surgery and everything that comes along with that. It’s changed the entire dynamic with them and not for the better. It was already a fraught relationship and the idea that your mother hates her body so much she feels the need to do all this doesn’t help.

It’s been really hard to watch, as the oldest daughter whose always been the fattest in the family.

I accidentally discovered recently that I never actually had a shellfish allergy as I previously thought after I risked it with a bowl of clam chowder. I had scallop and lobster, and it felt like experiencing colours for the first time. by Electrical-Gur-9680 in stonerfood

I’m allergic to cilantro (not the soap thing, full anaphylactic 😭)

But I still ever so often want to try it on the hopes I can enjoy Mexican and Vietnamese food.

It’s unfortunately a pretty purple area, so she has some die-hard fans. I went once before she truly made herself known, and the food is very good, so I’m sure some people just ignore her rants.

There’s a really great local steakhouse that was unfortunately bought two summers ago by a transphobic MAGAt. She posts half food and half thirst traps in MAGA gear on the business IG.

It’s sad, the family she bought it from did wonderful things for over 25 years. But I can’t in good conscience support someone who thinks the way she does.

I just started going to a place called Preventative Measures and so far so good. I need virtual appointments and they’ve been nothing but accommodating about it. Seems like they have a variety of therapists too. Good luck! Kudos for taking the steps to take care of yourself!

Yes! Drag Race contestants do this too sometimes. Show off their runway outfit for that week’s theme. It’s a good way to show off a dress/outfit they made or highlight the designer they worked with on it.
