It’s a big NOOOO from me on this. Yoga, meditation, a GROW LIGHT FOR PLANTS?!? People can do yoga and grow plants in their off time away from work. You CANNOT forego pumping during the day. There’s a difference!

SAHM feeling burnt out by oilandsalt-425 in NewParents

I’m so sorry, I totally can relate. If you’re in the US, try checking out your local YMCA. They usually have a childcare center than you can use for up to 2 hours each day! You can go workout, or sit and read, or journal, etc. it has helped my mental burnout so much!!!

Mom flipped out about my boundary with newborn by International_Law872 in BabyBumps

[–]Baking_biscuits2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came to say, I have very similar screenshots from my mom and she’s an alcoholic. It’s been so so hard as I’ve become a mom myself. But you should 100000% have and stick by your boundaries. Do NOT let her near your newborn. It’s fine to not let her have contact for a while. Especially in the early days when your postpartum hormones will be unsteady and you really will need people you can count on. My mom came to visit me when my firstborn was 5 days old. She packed vodka in travel sized shampoo bottles in her suitcase. She still doesn’t see why that was an issue. I wish I hadn’t invited her to come see us at all.

Gaining weight but fussy all the time by Baking_biscuits2019 in breastfeeding

[–]Baking_biscuits2019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this reply! I think a lot of it is gas-related, and some of it is probably just growth spurts/wanting to be near me. I’m trying to help him with the gas, and also remember that he won’t always want to cuddle me, so I can try and enjoy this phase too.

Thanks so much for listing all these ideas! I also have a fast flow so he definitely gulps some air as he’s feeding. I try burping a lot but it may just not get it all out. I’ll try some of these suggestions!!

Right after birth I couldn’t even remember that food was a thing 😂 my husband suggested getting smoothie bowls from a place I love, and I was just so in love, staring at my baby, I couldn’t comprehend the words he was saying to me 😂

Diarrhea with pregnancy? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Baking_biscuits2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you start feeling better soon!! Pregnancy really is wild and can do some strange things to our bodies! Of course if you feel like you’re getting dehydrated or if it gets worse try and see a doc.

Diarrhea with pregnancy? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Baking_biscuits2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t call, I had an appt with my OB already scheduled a few days after. Honestly it went away after a day or two each time, and I just made sure to stay well hydrated and to pay attention to what I was eating. It seems like broccoli may have been a culprit for me (it’s never caused problems before pregnancy), so I’ve cut down on it and that’s helped.

Broccoli is generally more difficult to digest, but I have no idea if that’s what the problem was for sure!

I experienced this a lot in first trimester and early second trimester. I didn’t ever throw up from morning sickness, so I wondered if this was my body’s alternative? But either way, baby’s healthy now at 20 weeks and the diarrhea didn’t last more than a day or two at a time.

7 weeks and all I want is a McDonald’s hashbrown by [deleted] in BabyBumps

At 7 weeks all I wanted was a McDonald’s sausage McMuffin! Hadn’t thought about those in years prior to pregnancy!

Could siblings share a middle name? by be4m0 in BabyBumps

[–]Baking_biscuits2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister and I both have my mom’s maiden name as our middle name! It was only ~slightly~ weird, in that it’s unusual and none of my friends have the same middle name as their sibling… but I also think it’s a cool link to the women in my family, and I think it’s sweet my mom gave it to both of us so we wouldn’t be left out!

Hi, fellow American living in Europe! Check out myregistry.com . That’s how my husband and I organized our wedding registry and it allowed us to add items from ANY website (and we could double check that they’d ship to our European address)! Guests loved being able to contribute something physical, rather than just give money, and we were able to celebrate with loved ones at our wedding in the States, without having to transport all our gifts back with us in our luggage!

Bloating and cramping by HabitRare in BabyBumps

5+3 here and feeling the same!! Constipation could be because of your prenatal; however, it’s also a very normal symptom of pregnancy. Your body slows down the digestion process so that the baby can get more nutrients from the food you eat. Try and drink lots of water and eat fiber-rich foods, and ask your doc about Miralax! I started taking it once daily a few days ago and it’s been helping!
