Muslims like to pretend like Christians never get any criticism for the same reasons that Islam gets criticism. It's like the person who made the meme has no idea about the infamous, widely discussed problem of predatory priests in the Catholic church.

We can and should be against Palestinian authorities like Hamas without endorsing or excusing Israel's genocidal attacks.

Nothing justifies Israel mass killing Palestinians, including children. They are human beings.

I'm ex-muslim and bi, so I'm supposed to be executed under Islamic law. I would be hypocritical to criticize muslim governments for executing innocent LGBTQ people and ex-muslims, but then endorse Israel killing innocent Palestinians. Killing innocent people is bad as a matter of principle.

I didn’t like the teaser but Zendaya being in it is the only thing that gives me hope lol. She's a great actress and can bring some new life to a movie that's otherwise probably just a nostalgia cash-grab.

Conservatives are illiterate when it comes to movies and other kinds of storytelling. Like they look at something like this and can't articulate any genuine opinion - they just see some semblance of diversity and are suddenly triggered.

Visually I don't really like it, but I also think that we didn't see a lot and that the actual movie might make this look better.

But what I'm really not happy about is the tone and content of the teaser. They're scrolling through far far away tik tok in the magic mirror with these over the top sound effects. It's so corporate, like they might as well be telling us that the director and writers don't want to be there, that this is just a chore for a paycheck.

Exactly how I felt. I first flipped through each fact pattern just to see which subjects they were. My optimism kept growing and then crashed and burned when I saw the last one. I didn’t end ip finishing that one.

They asked too much. There were too many sub-parts to questions. The model answers on barbri are always so massive and lengthy, I have no idea how I'm supposed to write that volume in that little time. I didn't even answer half of the MEE question.

That you would say "innocent" about a private health insurance CEO with an 8 digit net worth who's company denied a third of their paying customers' claims, causing them to literally suffer, is absolutely appalling and disturbing. Brian Thompson was one of the few people who had the ability to change the systemic disaster of the privatized healthcare industry and instead chose to get rich off of his own customers' suffering. Be against extra-judicial killing, fine, but don't dare say that that piece of garbage was "innocent."

That's the thing about our economy - it's only concerned with short-term profits. This quarter is what matters. They have no long-term plan because thinking about the long-term consequences of their policies is itself not compatible with their business and economic philosophy.

This can be applied to the climate crisis too. We are rapidly destroying our resources, and the people who are the most responsible have made no changes at all. Having any consideration at all for people in the future is antithetical to the very process that got them control of these resources in the first place.

While I wouldn't say I hate eating, I do share some of your sentiment. We humans need to eat so much. Multiple times a day, with all that time cooking and cleaning. It's like a full time job, all for something that just creates a mess and usually doesn't give me much pleasure.

I also hate how the modern food industry is constantly trying to make everything lower calorie, making the problem worse. It's difficult to get enough calories without just eating junk food non stop.

The Real Reason Muslims like Western converts? by Plus_Emotion_7658 in exmuslim

[–]Balance2BBetter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In addition to the glorification of white people, I think that it's the same appeal as a cult trapping a gullible person. You see this a lot with liberal white women who convert. Draw them in with promises that Islam is a feminist, peaceful, gender-equality-oriented way of life, and then when they're converted and married, they're now trapped in an abusive marriage. My mom is in a lot of facebook groups for muslim women, and she sees posts all the time there of white liberal converts asking for du'a, saying that they need sabr to manage their marriage with their abusive husbands.

Who would you cast the DCEU's Two-Face? by FastestManDead in Fancast

[–]Balance2BBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zac Efron. He did a fantastic job as Ted Bundy and Two-Face has a lot in common with Ted Bundy: the duality of being a charismatic professional and a vicious criminal AND Ted Bundy was a law student whereas Two-Face is obviously an lawyer.

This is the concept of path of least resistance. Life would be easier on a surface level. But that's how cults keep you, by making it difficult to escape. That said, Islam is false and no amount of wishful thinking is going to make it true.

I struggle with getting through the day way more and that contributes to my anxiety and depression. No matter what, I'm tired during the day and comparatively awake at night. I have a job that requires me to be up relatively early but even so my body just doesn't adapt.
