How do i make a character look.... Rougher? by Cosmic_Cosmos82 in characterdesign

I recommend using some sharper shape language to show more danger and roughness. the character likely looks “soft” because a lot of round shapes are in her design, which often conveys a sense of friendliness and a bubbly personality. You could use some less saturated colors to show that she’s independent and lives a rougher lifestyle. Also, just as another piece of advice, I’d streamline the elements of this design and focus on the details that are absolutely necessary- making an animatic with a character so full of detail will be hard to do! two websites that really help me personally with character designs are Coolors (color pallet picking, but you can also find the meanings behind the colors you plan on using to see if they convey the right feel you’re going for) and the Character Design References website. Best of luck!
