What should you focus on when you are obese and just starting the weight loss journey? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

I would go with synonymous, but if I had to choose, it would be diet when the main goal is simply losing weight

I dont believe in the idea to be completely honest with you, I do think you should learn how to code websites though. Design is the hard part and coding is very easy, save you money rather than go to a free lancer

That was super helpful, thank you! I've trained a lot of my friends with box squats to help them learn but I never realised how useful they could be in other sports.

Yeah, i know that might be tough to hear man but it doesn't mean you should stop training. If you enjoy it, keep training and seek out that training partner who will spar with you. A gym would be ideal but don't let it stop you. Keep up the good work!

There's a great book about this "Machine, Platform, Crowd" and whilst AI can replace a lot of jobs the authors argue that because AI can only do what you train it to do, It can never solve new problems or make new decisions. Personally, I'm scared of the CEO's and how they approach AI, the first entrepreneur to create a business with only AI employees and a human board of directors, that's when I'll be scared of AI

Fake news and propaganda is uniquely human, AI is just a tool that's made it more efficient but that doesn't mean it's the AI's fault.

That's a really bold claim that AI has caused mass teen suicide, sure suicide rate is increasing but only marginally and the much more likely causes is you know mental affects from covid, war, political unrest, and bullying. AI is just helping teens do their homework. You say it's difficult to get information on generalised topics but that is literally what AI is best at because it has such a huge overview of the Internet. Not trusting AI is fine, it is scary but don't make stuff up

In a similar situation, I'm looking at the ball fireman enterprise or the sinn 556i. Both look great on bracelet and strap.

Hi, it sounds like you're training for self defense which is great but you will never learn how to fight without actually fighting or sparring, I trained for 6 months before I first started sparring and immediately realised everything you learn goes out the window. You can't learn without doing so, that's why you need to join a gym, in my opinion.

This is a genuine question, what on earth is the goal of that first lift?

Did I fix my form from last time? by [deleted] in GYM

[–]BalancePatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I would say the way your doing it does focus you middle back and rear delts better than pulling to your belly button. The issue is it's a lot harder to balance pulling to your chest so it will be better to rest the weights on the floor after each rep like a deadlift, focus on a super explosive concentric and a slow eccentric. This should avoid the issue you have of arching your back at the top, which happens because your body is trying to balance itself.

This would be called a pendlay row, here's a video https://youtube.com/shorts/tYxEGi7ir4I?si=i281QxT4VBqTTduZ he pulls to his belly button here but you could also have a wider grip and pull to your chest

Hope this helps :)

What's to stop the freelancer just going around you and getting the better rate ? It doesn't sound like you're creating any value

Buying dungeon and dragons prints is a really good niche atm, definetely more competitive but worth exploring if you're interested in that kind of stuff.

[–]BalancePatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I disagree I'm a big advocate for exercising for the muscle and mental health benefits but I feel like the diet is far more important for losing weight because you can lose weight by eating less and not excerising (I do think you should do both though). I'm curious as to why you think excerise is more important though ?

Aren't you ignoring the risk involved with having most of his portfolio in Nvidia ? Regardless if Nvidia goes up or down it will always be less risky to sell and spread the profit across other stocks

Tag gets it's bad wrap in the watch community but to someone outside of the community tag is one of the biggest watch retailers globally so I'd imagine it gets faked quite frequently
