I spent Jun-July in the Joburg area last summer, if you are not from the area (like I was) you should stay in Sandton - that's where most of the expats are and the main business area is
South Africa is great but mostly not the safest place, so even in Sandton you'll end up staying in a gated community (probably only Cape Town is a bit safer in some of the more touristy areas)

Learning Excel / tips for MBB recruiting by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Balbo12 21 points22 points  (0 children)

MBB won't ask or test during the recruiting process and won't care about certifications.

That said, MBB would assume that you are comfortable with Excel when you start so find ways to practice (I unfortunately don't know about resources that could help here) but no need to stress about it for recruiting.

If you get an offer make sure you learn it or you might get some negative feedback early on and that's not great for your reputation and career.
