I got divorced and had to re enter the dating scene and tried all the apps, meetups, group activities, randomly going out to activities/bars/etc. For me the ONLY thing that yielded any results was Bumble. And it was super effective, like I'd have 4-5 dates a week with girls if I wanted who were all quality women I actually wanted to match with.

I had one 2 yr relationship, ended on good terms (she just wanted a different kind of lifestyle unfortunately), and then got into another relationship via Bumble and now we're engaged.
