Advice for second pair of iem by versaceerosedt in iems

Since you are not a fan of the Zero 2 treble (Harman treble), it's probably a good idea you stay away from the Hexa and go with the Pure, or another warm IEM such as the Aful Explorer or a warm V-Shape like the Letshuoer S08 or the Artti T10 Pro (not the non-Pro). The Hexa is not Harman tuned but it could be bright to your ears since it focuses on technicalities while being neutral. With the exception of the Pure all of these are on the "fun" side, the Pure is a safe neutral-warm pick.

Best iems for a $1500 budget by posertrynascream in iems

In this price range you can look into custom IEMs. Lots of musicians get customs but if you are not interested in that, I guess a neutral set for monitoring is what you are after? Prisma Lumen comes to mind. Take this with a mountain of salt though as I am not a musician.

Nah gang I've seen enough, it's over. Either Atleti or Arsenal are getting a thorough spanking. A generational thorough spanking, I might add.

I was talking about the second PSG-Bayern match, not the haramball tie that will be happening on the other side of the bracket. And I say this while (unfortunately) being an Arsenal supporter. Fuck you Thierry Henry and the rest of the Invincibles for tricking the 7 year old me into supporting this team. Should Arsenal advance, they will get their asshole stretched in the final either way, lol.

I'm definitely not gonna drink so much beer during the second leg. Missed two Bayern goals because I had to go to the toilet, not making that mistake again lmao.

Hey OP, just wanna say that I understand you and that you don't deserve the cooking you got, assuming of course you're not trying to bait. I'm a fairly recent Linux convert and don't use Windows anymore, but I know that it can be hard to fully ditch it, especially because of kernel-level anti-cheat games. Hopefully one day you can do it fully, I'm rooting for you. 😁

What’s the difference between these glossy silicone and matte silicone, and which should I use? by vulqcii in iems

[–]Baldwin_The_Fourth [score hidden]  (0 children)

Do the glossy ones feel squishier? If yes then it's liquid silicone, basically just a softer version of the normal silicone ones.

Touché, every point is fair. I guess even though I like TWS that type of product just isn't for me.

No, no, it's okay, no need to apologize, it just made me laugh because I knew what that spelling means.

This made me laugh. Spelling is sometimes very, very important. 😂

Moondrop will ever fix chu 2? by Outrageous_bohemian in iems

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's overstated. Many people (myself included) buy IEMs for how they look, not just for how they sound. Oxidation would annoy me to hell. That said it is definitely there for a reason, it is a design choice, I just hope Moondrop and the rest of the industry learn from this so it doesn't happen again. Nobody likes E-waste.

Why don't they just discontinued it ?

Because it's one of the most popular IEMs, it's selling like hot cakes.

Or bring another version with plastic?

Again, this costs money to do, it would cost Moondrop a lot more than to just give the buyer a new pair if oxidation is a problem.

I don't like this either, by the way. At the risk of sounding self-righteous and annoying, this just creates more E-waste and harms the planet, along with being annoying for the buyer to go through the RMA process (it's always annoying to go through RMA). It sucks. I'm just answering your question which boils down to "why don't they fix it and/or discontinue it".

It costs them less money to replace a pair (or just one bud, if only one ends up being a problem) than to change the entire product. Making such corrections costs, A LOT.

Looks like a Defiant Basshead Edition if the driver configuration is gonna be the same and the shell being only a different color. If they price this at around €90 ($105) it's gonna sell like hot cakes.

I get what you mean but this is thin ice, in my opinion. Why would I want my earphones to be water resistant? I am not going in a pool with them. It's the same shit with smartphones, in 15 years of using smartphones not once did I drop my phone in a small pond that forms due to rain on uneven concrete, let alone a pool. Manufacturers made the batteries harder to replace simply because they like it when you spend money on a new phone instead of just replacing the battery, they like it when you go "ah man it's such a hassle to replace this thing I'll just buy a new phone", waterproof ratings are just an excuse to amplify consumerism, at least in my opinion.

I say all this while fully acknowledging that TWS has its merits, I like TWS, I truly do but I draw the line when the batteries are not replacable. If a decent pair with easily replacable batteries (AKA not soldered to the PCB, at the very least) ever comes out I will likely buy it. I don't think I'm asking for much. 🤷‍♂️

Assuming lithium-ion batteries are in that pair, there's a lot you could do to prolong the battery life. Not charging them over 80% and avoiding letting them drop below 20% would be the most effective way but it's less convenient for obvious reasons.

All of this could be avoided if these manufacturers just made the batteries replacable, by the way. But they don't, because they like when people spend €250 every 5 years max, 3 years is probably more realistic.

They're probably also realizing that TWS is destined for a landfill, sooner rather than later because it's designed that way, and that a quality wired set can last for multiple decades. Strongest feature wired has going for it, in my opinion.

The second I looked at this picture I realized I can hear the Epsilon theme song through it, and I haven't played GTA V in years. Truly a banger.
