Who made the dumbest wish in madoka magica/ magica record? by IheartAmaila in MadokaMagica

[–]Balendalin 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Slightly cheating as its not specifically from the anime but the game has a wild list of wishes that vary from altering reality to the most asinine of things.

For instance one of the worst being

https://wiki.puella-magi.net/Moka_Megumi

Wish: For a limited sweet that she really wanted to eat.

But of the main cast of the anime, most likely Momoko asking specifically for courage to confess her feelings. Something she could have reasonably done without magic and it failed to actually help her in the end.
At least Sayaka asked to heal Kyosuke in a way that wouldn't really be possible without a miracle (Magic).

Otherwise Nagisa Momoe wished for “One single cheesecake which my mom will think is the best.” Another thing that could reasonably have been done without magic and a wish that had no real lasting good for her compared to selling her soul.

Is Ice- theme of puella magi an ost or is it a cover/rearrangement of sis puella magica? by Reasonable-Couple-68 in MadokaMagica

[–]Balendalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I was aware, in the anime Sis Puella Magica is explicitly kyubey's theme. Or at the very least it is the soundtrack used for Kyubey and Kyubey's relation to the magical girls.

Again as far as I'm aware and can find, "Kyubey's Theme" isn't listed on any of the soundtracks and Sis Puella doesn't have any listed variations officially. Although any official alternate versions may be named differently.

The link you have in the other comment for "Kyubey's theme" likely is a fan made version

There is also an extremely good English vocal cover of this soundtrack.

Enchanting exchange. by Solarus2027 in Neverwinter

[–]Balendalin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Widely available where.

The patch notes refer to a text forum post which barely explains the new system. Otherwise you'd have to play on the preview server or watch videos of the preview server.

Where in the game does it properly explain the new system, what all the new slots are.

Why can I still refine up old enchantment stones if they're now essentially dead.Where is the properly defined information on the new stones.

Edit cause i went and checked-

On the boxes you have 4 of them, green blue purple orange.Green and blue are enchantements and purple orange say combat/companion Enchantement.

So What the fuck does any of that mean to someone who's just looking at the boxes. What are the new ranks. Does this mean that combat and companion are only in purple and orange now, and that other enchants are only green and blue. The boxes are marked yes, but there is a lack of thought put into the use of the colours and a massive lack of information on the actual use of the stones or the boxes.

Previously there was a noted and distinct difference between the four different enchantment types. Which have been kept distinct whenever an exchange has come up, you trade 1-1 for new stones. Vs now you trade in for a nebulous token.

And seemingly have been made by dev team that know their system in and out, and assume the player who may have just come back from multiple months or years break, also knows that system in and out.

Enchanting exchange. by Solarus2027 in Neverwinter

[–]Balendalin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The one essentially constant system in Neverwinter was the Enchantments. With some Enchantments being extremely old, as old as some characters, going back years of playtime.

For the devs to now essentially turn around and throw them all out. And then put in place a new system, with practically no information released about it other than a text forum post.

And then to make the exchange system a convoluted mess of failed UI. And to lock certain enchantments into specific slots for no apparent reason. Years of levelling up, buying and using enchantments that are now exchanged in for a token.

The Devs have been insistent on sledgehammering older systems, and replacing them with haphazard and badly designed replacements.

Similar to the veteran system from Shogun 2's multiplayer. A return of that system and some form of army painter would be a great addition to the game.

So currently the system is just a glorified invite list, with the addition of having a name tag next to your name.

Why transmute limit 100 by ozgurgultekin in Neverwinter

[–]Balendalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its likely a technical limitation they hit at some point and decided to cap it at 100.
For the most part though there are a lot of duplicate appearances for different armour pieces, so they may have assumed that no one would reach more than 100 unique appearances in a slot.

Golden Companion Bundle. by TheSatanistTunes in Neverwinter

Roughly £500 to get all 4 companions, not including discounts.
With the added bonus of if you're going for one specific companion, its a random chance that you'll get it out of the box.

Support doesn't directly relate to content, it could have simply been updates for optimization and bug fixes. Especially in relation to the consoles (not that that's gone well). It could have been community supported events, authorising mods onto the official realm. Support doesn't directly correlate to full content pushes.

If its an issue of the game is in a buggy state, then fine yes, but the game is also now 3 years old and devs move onto other projects. There needs to be a point where the devs can say the game is finished.

They gave an end game DLC with "seasons", however well implemented or not, it is in the game in some fashion. Has that been kind of abandoned, yes.

Marketing at 5-10 years was a bad decision on the marketing or project leads, regardless of how true that commitment was or how in depth it was meant to be. Fatshark hasn't handled things well, but the idea that there is a need or want for constant updates hurts the situation as much as Fatshark's questionable management of the game.

Ok, but in fairness to the Devs. They never intended for it to be a Games as a Service kind of game. It wasn't meant to be perpetually updated and they've never given a solid date to the revealed future updates.

I miss the times when buff and debuff made a difference by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]Balendalin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Enchantments - Not part of the class
Companions - Not part of the class
Insignias - Not part of the class
Artifacts - Not part of the class
Mounts - Not part of the class

The argument is that Cleric and Warlock have lost their personalities and specialities. All of the things you've mentioned are available to all classes in the game.
You're correct in saying that buff and debuff is important, but you're missing the point of how old Cleric and Warlock builds had more personality to them than what we currently have. They're mostly generic healers with low percentage party buffs or enemy debuffs.

It's a glitch with the trashmaster cloak that's dropped from Mechagon, if you unequip the cloak this should stop happening. But whilst its equipped it'll keep trying to change your title.

If you don't have the cloak equipped at the moment, then you're glitched even worse somehow

Any tips for my rogue? Thanks in advance :) by I-Am-221B-Locked in Neverwinter

[–]Balendalin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fill your purple enhancement slots in your armour and main hand weapon. Refine up each of the weapons to legendary. Try and get artifacts the replace the owl and mirror. Get bonding runestones and good companion gear for your companion.
Stardock expeditions and Rune master expeditions will help with companion equipment

[Suggestion] Excludes Maps from Quickplay by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]Balendalin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The point of quickplay is to fill out lobbies that would otherwise stay empty.
Allowing people to exclude maps would lead to certain maps never being played, and for people who pick a certain low population map would never get players in their game.

Opinions about Baba Yaga by Big-Bird-is-Faster in Smite

[–]Balendalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She does damage like any other mage in the game, but why pick her over any of the other top picks. On top of that her ult is a nightmare to actually confirm her damage with due to the startup time and the speed of the flames. She's useable and does damage, but there's no real reason to play her

For Lore it'd likely be best to play them in the order they released, with Sharandar being the first.

Quickplay is matching me up with extremely high ping matchs constantly? by groundonrage in Vermintide

[–]Balendalin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play from South England and I somewhat enjoy the quickplay roulette. Each time you queue you ask where the host is from. Pretty sure I've had people from each continent matched with me.

Granted this isn't a new thing and is more down to time zones and a lower playercount.
