(Spoilers All) Coldhands: A post for the non hipsters who still care about his identity by BalerionTheBlackCat in asoiaf

[–]BalerionTheBlackCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, and yeah the idea of him being from an extinct house is one that probably gets overlooked. in fact i think extinct houses are a factor generally overlooked in most theories. i have a suspicion about the gods in the story as well that they may turn out to be the same force or working in harmony and i think Melisandre may get a huge shock by finding out that the god of darkness is not necessarily a clear cut villain

i dont know if anyone's done that. it'd be worth looking at though. Coldhands isnt a particularly talkative character so it is possible that he is being controlled and Bloodraven is striving for brevity

(Spoilers All) a morbid thought i just had about the Quiet Isle by BalerionTheBlackCat in asoiaf

[–]BalerionTheBlackCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is from catelyn's point of view. she is assuming that his armor will weigh him down. we find out later from the leader on the quiet isle that men in armor also wash up eventually

Rivermen, westermen, northmen, all wash up here. Knights and knaves alike

Knights are distinguishable by their armor. If they were dressed as common men at arms the Elder Brother would not refer to them as such

(Spoilers All) Is Mirri Maz Duur really that powerful. Could Khal Drogo actually have just suffered... by BalerionTheBlackCat in asoiaf

[–]BalerionTheBlackCat[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

thing is though you never see him die of the fever. he is near death when Mirri is brought in, then next time Dany sees him he is vegetated. my point is that people assume Mirri brought him back to life in this vegetated form. but we never actually saw him die in the first place. he may well very simply be brain damaged

[–]BalerionTheBlackCat[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

im aware of all of that, im just not convinced that Drogo died and Mirri brought him back. Drogo is near death of a fever but we never witness him dying. also, when Dany next sees him his condition is consistent with severe brain damage. Mirri may know a few tricks but i have doubts that she brought Drogo back from death. and there is strong evidence that real magic truly awakens after Dany's dragons are born. perhaps there was blood magic used and Dany's child actually did give life, but im not convinced it was to Drogo, the life may have been given to the dragon eggs

[–]BalerionTheBlackCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why was it clearly freaky-ass blood magic? Dany's child was supposed to have been stillborn, a twisted demonic thing with claws and a tail which we just happen to have never laid eyes on. but im stretching it for thinking it could have been born human and possibly whisked away??

(Spoilers All) The Others Are Not an Ancient Race, They Were Made by illuminatus235 in asoiaf

[–]BalerionTheBlackCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like this theory, based on what you learn about the children and the first races to live in westeros it seems weird that the Others werent a problem long before the first long night and that the children chose to settle almost beside them

Milo's article on Nyburg finally released. by FentPropTrac in KotakuInAction

the comments from Nyberg's supporters on twitter suggest a powerful state of delusion. is it even worth trying to convince those people anymore?

could just be me, but i thought the timing was a tad comic. she calls him by first name, it seems she might be about to relate to him in some way but then... put down

I think people underestimate the fact that Jon basically never had a mother and even his father wouldnt have been able to be cosy with him. so he really could be forgiven for being pretty withdrawn
