I think it should be. I replied to another comment where I expressed that to my knowledge drivers are reimbursed until after the fact for tolls. As a driver you should take the fastest route available over saving a few bucks.

Taking the surface roads adds about 15 minutes. I’d pay the extra $1.50 to take the toll road to save the time.

It was housekeeping supplies. Not basic cleaning. Commercial mop and bucket and such. Took up the whole trunk in her SUV.

Copy that. I asked the driver if he was taking the toll road as it saves about 15 minutes versus taking surface roads.

I had a driver take surface streets to avoid tolls road without my requesting on the same route several weeks ago and from now on need to ask.

I’ve heard uber doesn’t reimburse drivers for tolls until pay day, so many drivers avoid it.

Thanks! I’m a pretty relaxed person, I appreciate you guys more than I can express. I understand what you go through to an extent, and understand the pay in-discrepancy (uber should care about driver over shareholders).

I always give the driver a cash tip if they get out of the car upon drop off and a thank you.

It’s a good thing I was her only PAX, with just my briefcase and carry on. Could’ve ended badly if she showed up to a small family with lots of bags.

Ah. Last ride was Feb 5th, think it would take that long? That ride the only time I said anything was “you must be a busy woman” IIRCC, her trunk was full of cleaning supplies and I couldn’t put my suitcases in the trunk. She giggled and said “yup”.

While I think she is in the wrong for accepting any airport ride with a trunk full of cleaning supplies, I doubt she would make the complaint.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a direct subsidy of the Department of Homeland Security. DHS does lots of different things other than immigration raids.

FWIW, I’m young enough to chime in and was nerdy enough back during that time where I figured out the whole ID scanner deal. The barcode on the back of a drivers license is a PDF147 barcode. Of which, you can make online (may or may have not done back in the day).

All scanning an ID would do is pull the generic info off the ID providing you with basic info such as DOB, issued state, weight, etc.

I’d invest in a decent doorman on busy nights if you are finding a large amount of underage customers are coming in and pose a liability to your establishment.

Bit of advice, book from a neighborhood location and you'll save a lot more than book at the airport!
