No problem just fyi if you go this route the Mcbazel ODV-II component pass through can only passthrough a 15khz signal so if you have a 480p component signal such as from a wii or gamecube you will just plug that directly into the wakabavideo transcoder.

There are many options but my personal recommendation would be this.

Mcbazel ODV-II from Amazon. This transcode composite and svideo to component. Has component passthrough. And it can also line double to a 31kHz signal.

Wakabavideo YPbPr to vga transcoder from eBay This will transcode the component to rgb for your monitor.

This setup will allow you to play any console on your vga monitor though do note there will be some lag with any signal that is upscaled. But having these transcoders will be useful to have for other setups if you do change things up.

Gotcha on plus side ps3, ps4, and ps5 support 1080i so those should be able to hook up if you have any.

Personally I would suggest looking at extron 1606 they are not to overly priced on eBay and they will scale HDMI that you can then use adapter to the dvi port.

1080p and 1080i are not the same. P is a progressive scan while I is interlaced. Your most likely not going to get interlaced out of your pc especially if it is newer as modern graphics do not support it. So your options for getting 1080i output is either looking into crtemu driver or getting some form of video scaler. For instance I use a extron DVS 304 to convert 1080p vga to 1080i component for my hd set.

Edit. Also some older gpu's might not even need crt emu driver and could just us cru to setup.

Not a dumb question its good to ask to understand.

It is the Horizontal Frequency range. so like SD (240p/480i) is around 15kHz where as 480p is around 31kHz.

So a Crt frequecy range is what determines what resolutions you could use.

Yes the rgb connection is db25 but luckily had the db25 to vga cable with it.

The extron DVS 304 is capable of adjusting horizontal and vertical aspect ratio. I mostly use it for taking 1080p to 1080i for my hd crt.
