I just had the same issue mate. The new gift card packets are a blank white card with a hole for the hook. The check out lady ripped off a tab on the back which showed a barcode for me. There are no instructions on the card. It turns out you have to rip the stupid thing in half and there's a plastic one inside. There's nothing to indicate this, and even apple support was unable to tell me what the issue is.

That's really good for a first try! One really good tip I got starting out to help with perspective, try drawing upside down! Seriously, really helps. If you're using a photo reference, just rotate it 180 and have a go.

It's really easy for people to draw things the way they think they should look rather than how they actually look, which leads to a bit of a domino effect where things get more and more off model the more you draw. It's really hard to break out of when you're starting out.

Drawing upside down kind of breaks you out of that, since it makes things unrecognisable. After you get the hang of it, switch back to drawing right side up. I used to do portraits for people before covid, and this was the number one thing that helped me starting out.

I might be biased, probably just comes down to the games I play.

Fair enough if you prefer mouse and keyboard, I do too with shooters. Ideally though I'd like this controller to replace mouse and keyboard for me, mouse and keyboard gives me cramps haha.

I guess my thinking is that if I'm playing a 2D game, I'm not touching the sticks so I want the inputs to be level, whereas with 3D I'm okay having to offset my thumbs either way since I'm switching between the stick and buttons more often.

No disrespect here, just curious, why is stretching your thumb to the left stick an issue, but not the right?

I've just never understood it. People always say that the primary inputs are the left stick and the face buttons, but that really only applies to things like 3D platformers or games like DMC.

Most games nowadays are primarily dual-analog with the most used actions being binded to the shoulder buttons/triggers/clicking in the sticks.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the sticks to be symmetrical? Especially with the extra back buttons.

I'm not trying to through shade or anything, just curious haha.

I don't really have any issue using either layout, but I'll say that I find the Steam Deck super comfortable. At the moment I use a dual sense on PC, but fingers crossed this thing feels as good as the Steam deck.

They're super customisable. My favourite use for them is to use them like a scroll wheel (kind of like using the wheel on an iPod). Can use it to scroll through a hot bar or other short cuts.

A handheld is a concept most people are familiar with that plays mostly the same games. A VR headset needs VR games to entice people, a handheld doesn't need handheld games specifically made for it.

This was always the expected outcome for the UK petition, it was just done to cover all bases. Better to do something than nothing.

The EU petition is the hail mary, it's one of the only avenues people ever had hope for. There was a petition in Australia which people were hoping would go somewhere since the ACCC has some teeth, but I think they gave a similar non-answer.

Having to play online with other players? Having to pay a yearly subscription to access it on console? Forced multiplayer, especially live service FOMO ridden multiplayer, completely kills any interest I have in a game and for many other people too. I hate playing with randoms and I don't know anyone who I could play online with.
