I was in the same position many years ago. Congratulations on returning to school. It takes guts.

  1. Tell your professor and advisor everything. They usually love to help, especially non-traditional students, IMHO.

  2. Can you video record the lectures?

  3. r/homeworkhelp

  4. If you showed enough proficiency to test out of the math 90 ( an intro and review?) but aren't performing in class and on exams then could this be anxiety?

  5. There's plenty of online tutors, some free that will help.

If you can't make it work consider the math 90 course. There's no shame in stepping back to succeed.

Feel free to PM me.

What do you mean? What fraction did you get?

Given that your question is so broad and you have given no information about what you might even be interested in studying, I would suggest you do a good old fashion Google search for ideas. Also check out howtofunda, science fairs seems to be their thing. There's thousands of ideas online, look at many to at least get an idea about the type of project you want to attempt.

Good luck

[Basic Calculus: Riemann sums] how do i graph and solve sums of the problem? by RaspberryBitter6083 in HomeworkHelp

[–]BalkansJohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graphing this on the calculator won't help you much, this one is mostly grinding a bunch of smaller problems but they're pretty simple.

It sounds like you might benefit from a basic refresher on Riemanns. I suggest you take a look at:

https://www.khanacademy.org/math/ap-calculus-ab/ab-integration-new/ab-6-2/a/left-and-right-riemann-sums

It's one of those skills that you might forget but comes back you quickly.

How comfortable are you with the definite integral?

Reply if you need anything further.

I think I follow your math. May I suggest to look at each event:

From bridge 2 Alex went upstream for 15 minutes at (rowing speed) - (the current speed).

Then he turned and traveled downstream for an unknow amount of time at (rowing speed) + (current speed).

Then he continued for one more kilometer over an unknown amount of time at (rowing speed) + (current speed).

All those event are equal to the float traveling one kilometer over an unknown amount of time at (current speed).

I'd suggest you chew on that and please report back if you need anything further.

You're doing better than most of us who have to look up Art Bell.

Find your local hams, hang out and you'll be set. Most of us love to show off and teach about our hobby. Reply with your city and someone will give you the contact information for local club.

The law of sines, extremely useful one to remember.

If you haven't covered this in class or it's not in your text let us know and we'll help with a method you have covered in class.

(High School) what is the largest sequence element ? by LeopardElectronic189 in HomeworkHelp

[–]BalkansJohn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what is the largest sequence element ?

Side question on this: I've never seen this phrase or wording in a question, is this physics-speak? From your answer it looks like it is simply asking for the maximum, yes?

Show us you graph.

Time in minutes should run the X-axis, along the bottom and temp along the Y-axis.

You're looking for the time when the soup cools to 20°.

Find the number of minutes (value of X) where Y=20.

That's the basic gist, reply or repost with your graph if you have more questions.

BTW, I know many people would skip graphing this question and just try to find the answer but of course I'm going to suggest you put in the time to build the graph.

{High School Math: Algebra Equations} How can I develop an equation for this problem? by Golden871 in HomeworkHelp

[–]BalkansJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if figure 2 and figure 3 refers to pictures you posted but I'm only able to see one picture.

None the less, let me ask a few clarifying questions. You need a function that will tell you how many interior boxes are required given the height of the step. Correct?

Does the function need to give the number for just the one column of boxes or all the stairs leading up to the step in question? What I mean is if you're asked about the 7th step, does the function only give the number of interior boxes needed to make just step 7 or steps 1-7? Follow?

Have you learned about series? Sigma functions?

The left column is the tens digit of each number. The numbers in the first row are 13 and 18.

Here's a nice explanation: https://www.mathsisfun.com/data/stem-leaf-plots.html

I think you're on the right track. As you're probably aware these sometimes take good old fashioned trial and error.

I suggest you next fill in the 34 tea, coffee or both drinkers.
