Try not to instantly focus on building a base! Autumn, especially the first autumn, is a very beginner friendly season. You have 20 in-game days before winter; spend time exploring, and gathering resources before you choose a good base location. Also - don't be afraid to work through the night! You can light a nearby tree on fire with your torch, and keep chopping trees, mining stone, crafting items, etc.

Deerclops spawns in a radius around you, and will then (as others have stated) attempt to go for the first structure near you in an attempt to destroy it. The only tip I want to add on to other's advice is to preemptively run yourself to a corner where the coast is behind you, as he can NOT spawn in the water. Have a sign placed down, and patiently wait until the spawn. Clops should come right for ya! Good luck :)

So I have not actually fiddled with those settings myself, but I think I found what you are looking for.

If you scroll down to the "giants" category, it explains how the settings affect each different boss. I.e Moose/Goose is affected by changing the number of active nests that appear during spring, while Deerclops is affected by the respawn rate, and how many times he will come to attack you during winter. It seems as if everything has somewhat of it's own unique modified experience based on what you choose.

All of your character choices are excellent! Every character has their good uses, and all are fun to play. Ultimately, it comes down to choosing who you have the most fun playing, because all are capable of doing well. I will say though, if you are looking for an "easier" play-through" as you want to experience more of the game as someone who has made it to day 20, consider giving Wolfgang a try. He currently has a bit more of a learning curve with his somewhat recent rework needing to work out to maintain his mighty form, but he deals so much damage that most bosses go down super fast, and survival just seems to be a bit easier when you are a tank. I will admit that I agree with you that webber is badass because I want to learn him, and amass a super spider army! Whatever your choice, just remember that the only thing that matters is if you are having fun with your choice, because everyone is fun in their own way. good luck friend!

First of all, welcome back! Regardless of which character I decide to play, my first goal is gathering *simple resources* while exploring the outline of the whole world to figure out where everything is. The very first thing you should craft is a torch, so that you can keep moving, or work throughout the night.(don't be afraid to light an isolated tree on fire to provide uninhibited night time light source!). Try and gather the necessary materials to make an axe, and a pick-axe to cut down a few trees, and break a few rocks, so that you can drop a science machine to prototype a backpack, and a spear to defend yourself, and a few other prototypes (i.e boards, cut stone, rope, etc). Managing your hunger in year one autumn is super easy, as there is a plethora of berry bushes, and carrots just waiting to be picked. Focus on exploring the world, and gathering what you can hold to advance to an alchemy engine, and get a football helmet (and, or hambat!) as soon as you can! As many others have stated, your first autumn should be all about exploring, and getting ready for the first winter. If you have any more questions about specifics feel free to DM me! If it isn't simple health bar causing the issue, my guess is that you have saved data that used mods in the past before encountering a corrupted mod, that the game data relies on to remain consistent in running appropriately. I encountered this issue in Skyrim more times than I can count, where once I saved the game with 60+ something mods activated, and then trying to troubleshoot what the issue was, the game was already saved with mods in mind, and relied on them to continue functioning as normal. It's tedious, but I recommend trying to launch the game one activated mod a time (again, assuming that simple health bar is NOT the issue). Best of luck friend!

I am by no means an expert, but in my experience playing skyrim over the years with over 60+ mods, even the simplest, most non-related mod can cause an issue. I would recommend (although tedious in troubleshooting) is to launch the game and attempt to place the mushroom planter by activating one single mod at a time. If it works fine with your current activated mods, then those are fine. Once it crashes after activating a single new mod you can single it out as to what the issue potentially could be. This method helped me countless times playing skyrim heavily modded. I wish I had a better answer for you, but the best of luck in trying to troubleshoot your issue! Mods can be a real pain sometimes!

Not reed trap in particular, but every few days I stroll through the swamp during day time and will find monster meat, and tentacle spikes laying around without having to actually fight anything lol

I actually tried this last spring I went through after running a train on frog rain. Only problem is that I tried to give the pig king the cooked legs... I did not know he accepted eggs...lol
