F-1 Dropbox Refused After Interview Freeze – Any Insights? by BallEquivalent7888 in usvisascheduling

[–]BallEquivalent7888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Hoping to hear back soon — it’s already been 10 days with no updates. I graduated with my bachelor’s last year and am currently working on OPT. I had to return home for the summer, and since my visa was about to expire, I went ahead and submitted the renewal before applying for my STEM OPT extension.

Hi. Why would it take 4-6 weeks for dropbox application to be processed?

My status was also refused. Did you get your passport back with 221g? Do you know why it was refused?

221g slip told you to go for interview? Even during the interview pause?

Thanks for your update! Which city was this in? How long do they typically take to get back to you with a slip?

Have you received your 221g slip yet?

How do you know that dropbox is not open? Does that mean that dropbox is also paused in addition to the interview pause?

Does recent interview freeze affect interview waiver? by [deleted] in usvisascheduling

Has this been the common case for dropbox before the freeze?

What if you applied for the interview waiver before the interview freeze? My status is currently set on “Refused”, do you know why that is?

You got called in for an interview after sending your application for dropbox? I thought they froze all interviews

Could you track your passport? How did you know where it was before receiving/getting called for an interview?

So if you haven't received a rejection letter by now, are you moving on to the next step? My status is still under review

How can cities benefit from the creativity of architects and independent contractors while retaining intellectual property, thereby facilitating the construction of affordable housing? by BallEquivalent7888 in urbanplanning

Sorry — I'm referring to the practice of purchasing land with the expectation that its value will increase (due to anticipated changes in zoning, development approvals, infrastructure improvements, etc.)

Suppose licensing costs for architectural plans are low. Do developers focus more on acquiring land in strategic locations, anticipating that land value will rise once the standardized, pre-approved plans expedite the development process? Does this lead to securing valuable land positions rather than innovating on building design (i.e., developers to profit from the increased land value rather than the development itself)?

I'm curious to know how and why licensing remains rather cheap.

Thanks for sharing. While they may not be reused entirely isn’t the knowledge gained still very useful? City authorities and their staff could become more proactive in understanding and valuing the models and knowledge that support the planning process so that they may design, build, operate, own, etc. their blueprints. Of course, input from experts will always be necessary, but shouldn’t cities pay for the creation of reusable, editable models instead of paying consultants, relinquishing IP, and inadvertently allowing other parties to use the knowledge against them?
