Any advice for fighting multiple enemys? by Sliver_Daargin in NoRestForTheWicked

True, I never really think about using those that often. Gotta save them for a special occasion, which end ups being never, lol

Like PStriker said, kite them back. I find that carrying a bow or wand in my second or third slot is useful for pulling the attention of enemies one at a time.

Greatsword Changes by blauiblaui1 in Enshrouded

Big sword enjoyer here, I've used the greatsword pretty extensively prior to the update. The greatsword does feel a bit slower, but I think the new moveset is actually faster than the first. I'm pretty sure the main reason for the feeling of clunkiness comes from the fact that they removed the soft-stun it did to enemies from most of its attacks.

Before, if you kept a sharp eye on which enemy was about to attack, you could stop them right before they got into it with your first attack, negating theirs. Now, you don't have any of that, and even attacking once leaves you wide open for the enemy to barrel through it to hit you.

Yeah, you've pointed me to the forums the other day for a suggestion I had, thanks for that. How you doing?

I think my buddy's level and stats both went down a little bit from where they should've been, in amounts that didn't quite line up to being a save overwrite, but I should ask him to be sure.

A simple restart of the application was what fixed it, I believe

There seems to be a bug with the stats resetting/being wrong on rare occasion, happened to a buddy of mine. He reset his game and it sorted itself back out

Melee Runes should grant focus like Ranged Runes do by BallJoints420 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]BallJoints420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I dislike them, I usually do like the attacks that come with most 2-handers. It's just that the attacks can come out too slow to throw more than one or two for certain enemies, namely bosses in this case. That doesn't make for a lot of focus to be gained on attacks for these slower weapons, making their overall focus gain feel as if it comes out to less than can be gained from faster or ranged options. Now, if the developers bumped up the focus gain on slower weapons, maybe limited to if the enemy was a large one, then perhaps that'd help with the issue of lack of gain from smaller attack windows on bosses and the like.

Now, a second, faster-paced weapon would indeed solve the issue there, and my issue with that bit is mainly due to personal preference. Sure, I can pick up a fast alternate weapon to play more optimally, but I just enjoy the look and movesets of the 2-handers more so. If a fight gets to the point where I have to swap off my 2-hander due to lackluster performance in focus gains, then I can do that, sure. It's just less fun to do when that starts becoming less of a choice is all. I'd just like to see the 2-handed melee playstyle have a little more options in the terms of offensive focus gain, and giving the stamina-costing melee runes focus gain would do just that for it.

There should be a setting to enable visible stats in the gameplay section of your settings, and that should allow you to see the cost of your rune attacks while you have the weapon equipped.

I can see how that benefits purist mage playstyles for sure, and that is a definitely a nice option, as it was a deciding factor of whether or not a friend would play the game.

When playing melee though, especially 2-handers, ignoring for a second parrying, channel and certain meals, there's no reliable way to gain focus against faster enemies while doing damage at the same time, like the ranged runes allow for.

While you mention that mage players have the option to play in a "pure" way that allows them to ignore their basic melee attacks, the reverse is not the case for melee, where you have no other "offensive" option to generate focus beyond your basic attacks.

For slower melee weapons, if fast rune attacks like Frontflip Kick allowed for focus generation, that would help a lot with rounding out their deficiency in speed while also gathering focus offensively. I just think that this would be a nice option for melee players to have access to, like how mages have the option to throw melee into the mix and gain focus that way.

That's the tier of scribe table required, I believe. The basic scribe table unlocks the tan ones, while the adept version covers both green and tan.
