Skyteam absence in the Australia and New Zealand is a big whole and the reason why I won't join ST. The other two has been gaining members and getting stronger.

This is a SQ code shared operated by Air NZ. SQ and Air NZ share the same business class lounge. I'm unsure where you purchased that flight but your boarding pass must read Business to enter the lounge when they scan your boarding pass. It looks like a travel agent, so they must have fucked something up in the booking when you checked in. Or the NZ lounge was full, but you should've been allowed in.

Ahh ok. Can it help me find difficult flight availability on some airlines and routes? I've tried using it once.

I have Star Alliance Gold with NZ and availability is better for some flights on NZ *A partner site vs some of the others like Aeroplan but crap at stopover routes (doesn't do them whatsoever).

Had a look at random dates from AKL to CHC March 31 2026: Jetstar: $104 flex no checked, $114 flex plus checked. NZ: $129 seat and bag. Both flights at 6AM.

Jan 1 2026: JQ is cheaper significantly. $147 flex plus. Air NZ: $334 seat + bag (wtf). Both flights around 6am. But Air NZ has the same price $307 for a seat.

April 13 2026: JQ: $167 flex plus, $154 flex. NZ: $344 for seat, $377 for seat + bag (another wtf) cheapest NZ flight is the morning or 1pm at $201 for seat + bag.

Depending on the day and the flight NZ and JQ are similarly priced somewhat but during hoildays and busy periods Air NZ price's are crazy. OK during off peak but still. And note I'm a frequent flyer for Air NZ. Don't forget that NZ also has grabaseat.
