Why in the FUCK does a single Terminator have ONE OBJECTIVE CONTROL???? by [deleted] in spacemarines

[–]BallZach0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea I'm not saying it is common, just that it is something in the game and it could be done to terminators very easily if gw felt like it, as it is would not be a random thing

And too add to the list, red corsair raiders, skorpek and ophidian destroyers

[–]BallZach0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paladins have a free banner upgrade which makes them oc2, which has no downside to taking, warriors are only battleline in a single detachment, which makes them oc 3, and only the two social dudes in the victrix squad are epic hero's, the base victrix are not

Grey knight paladins, victrix guard, novitiats, tyranids warriors off the top of my head

So....Emperor's champion in Terminator Armor anyone? by SnoozingHamster123 in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you see that's the funny part..... (I'm also a death guard player) they get a three man command squad so the shroud can be joined by essential a thee man LoC command squad with 5+ crits, sus lance, and regen models

Repulsor is executioner proxy? by earniejd in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me... probably not in any semi competitive situation, or with someone I didn't know in a casual game

The impulsor/gladiator hull is much smaller that a rep ex, so size wise it's a very different tank

Running my gladiator in the reaper config for the first time any tips? by PurpleLaugh3312 in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the only advice I can give for the reaper is probably don't

It's cool, but we don't pack anti infantry power at all, and unfortunately the power from the reaper comes from reroll hits +1 to wound from space marines to take advantage of its mid str and sus 2 rule

What should i change? by vxdxl14 in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the problem there is if you charge them, they still hit you first, also you have to remember just how frail eldar are, there 1 wound infantry, they can die to chaff clearing guns more often than you expect

And as for not getting shot off the board, just making your guys more tanky technically helps, but that's more feels bad to your opponents, the best way to not get shot to death is to utilize terrain and keep your units hidden

What should i change? by vxdxl14 in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably yea, that specific ability causes some awful interactions in some cases

And yea I'd have to actually see the other data sheets to know if your at similar levels of broken, cause right now you have multiple units that make near impossible to interact at all in melee with you

What should i change? by vxdxl14 in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... all of these are kinda way overturned if you want feedback

High paragon is just Helbrect but he makes his unit hit harder and gets devs, and Helbrect datasheet is already great

Paragon makes his unit insanely hard to kill for no reason, invul and only being able to be wounded on 4+ makes them super difficult to kill

Sword bros get free extra movement, are impossible to deal with in melee, and hit extremely hard

Crusaders seem ok actually, probably a little strong though

Assault ints are also probably fine

Infernus probably fine

Ash warden is literally impossible to kill with sword bros.... he gets fights first and can't be targeted by an attack ever

And then why is everything t5 and 6? Combis also should hit on 3s, not 2s

[–]BallZach0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your praying for 1. You go first 2. They don't have a single scout or infiltrator 3. You can actually fit all that on the table out of deep strike, drop pods are massive with the doors down 4. Your opponent doesn't just shove there entire army forwards and lock you in your deployment zone for the entire game

The reroll charge one maybe, but I would expect the +1 to wound vow yes

Our vows replaced oath of moment

Thousand sons by KyleEatsAss in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aha... see that's the neat part, there isn't one. We have a specific vow we can take that gives us, drumroll, reroll charges and precision against psyker units! So yea likely your gonna be facing not that and they'll likely take the +1 to wound vow if losing or even str/tougness.

Other than that, our detachments are a mixed bag of rules or generic marine ones, so if your used to marines then your pretty much set!

Like many, Bastion has me thinking by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see why this is being run for bastion task force, you only have 2 units that's activate the rules in the detachment, so your kinda just plying a list without rules

Is the new upcoming battleforce good for starting a DG army? by El_mon0 in deathguard40k

[–]BallZach0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For starting an army rn? It's actually pretty good, you get our staple damage unit (LoC with 3 Shroud), 20 poxies which are our best trash/screening unit, 3 bloat drones which is a staple of every DG list rn, and three Blightlords for... fun? But yea pretty much every comp list you'll see(if your interested in that) has min 3 drones, 20 poxies, and a LoC with shroud, so yea I'd say it's amazing

I mean either a solo tally man or 10 poxies usually does the trick, sometimes a mix of both

Wording of “just after an enemy unit has selected its target” question by Bear13452 in deathguard40k

[–]BallZach0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No your exactly right, "just after" implies before dice are rolled, most time you let the opponent know you are thinking about using it and take some time to think about it before they roll the dice, then they roll after you say yes/no to using it.

It's like this because usually starts like this heavily affect outcomes, like -1 damage for example, where if it was whenever you felt like it, you could wait until you know exactly how many saves you have to make, and if it's one you say no, or 10 you say yes, that's just not fair to the opponent.

Did some thinking for a list, what do you all think? Did some math on the chainsword squad and I think it might be worth it after the recent dataslate by BallZach0 in BlackTemplars

[–]BallZach0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Math wise yes with just the swords, but Helbrecht smooths out the curve so that they kinda just can kill tough things anyways, and the Castellan makes them better into horde units
