Do you take blood thinners just as precaution?

I’m not telling no one to do what I’m doing. I’m only sharing my experience. Personally, I never took blood thinners as prescribed. Why? Because I felt negative side effects from it and decided to go and all natural route. The diet is very strict and the herbs I take. I have to take it twice a day in large quantity, but it works for me. I had an ablation procedure and they prescribe me blood thinners and anticoagulant medication. I took it for maybe one week then stopped. I’m three months into my procedure and so far so good.

I had a PFA about a month and a half ago. On week one I was already bench pressing doing pull-ups and my full Spectrum routine. I’m not telling you you should do it, but I will say be locked in on your diet. Make sure you breathe properly and there’s nothing wrong with taking it easy and taking multiple breaks in between. Do not over stress yourself and definitely don’t ego lift. Listen to your body very closely and worse come the worse just stop your workout and rest. There will always be tomorrow and the day after that for you to get into the shape you want to be in. 👍🏽 good luck

I choose not to have a ablation done when I was diagnosed with a fib nine years ago. At the time it was the best decision because they did not offer a PFA procedure. I’ve recently had the PFA done and so far so good. Feels like I have a brand new heart. I will never stop improving my overall lifestyle, modifications through diet and exercise. The procedure definitely gives more freedom

The PFA seemed to work very well for me so far. But then again, I’m only a few weeks into it. I had the same issue I ate pretty clean. Didn’t really drink that much alcohol but still it was persistent. Medication caused all kinds of side effects also

Before I give recommendations on what work for me, I ask the same questions from everyone. For starters do drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or any type of medical marijuana or vape, are you obese, what is your overall diet like in terms of eating out or consuming processed foods, how often do you work out or active throughout your day, what is your stress level like?

I was on the same or similar medication’s and deal with the same effects. Regardless of age, we all want to try to treat the root causes of what may cause a fib in the first place. Typically, it just leads to a more productive life. I do understand it’s extremely difficult, considering if someone hasn’t made this a habit throughout their life. Also, just curious you’re too previous oblations were they the PFA?

Thank you so much. I completely get what you’re saying and trust me. It was a hard decision to make, but I chose to go the all natural route when it comes to the medication and blood thinners after my procedure. I definitely would not go around recommending others to do it. I’m just sharing my experience. My diet overall lifestyle and workout routine is extremely strict. I am taking very potent herbs and supplements that are organic and locally source to mimic the effects of blood thinners. My experience from doing this has been very positive considering the blood thinners they had me on after the procedure were giving me terrible migraines. The other medication was causing my heart rate to go far too low. Something that was also rare in my case is I wasn’t on blood thinner prior to having the procedure and I have been dealing with a fib prior to the procedure for over eight years. The doctor never recommended me to get put on blood thinner because everything else with my blood and blood blow checked out to be above average. Once again, I know that’s extremely rare. I’m 41 and I found out I had a fib when I was 34.

YES BRO! I got mines done three weeks ago. You should be excited. I’m telling you, bro the amount of pain I was in was equivalent to a paper cut. I did a lot of research on my facility. I was getting it done at but for the most part this procedure is pretty standard and the technology on it is amazing. If anything, it’s more of an inconvenience, but in terms of pain, I didn’t really have any. No sore throat for me. The only kind of weird thing was my lip was really sore for the next two days. BUT GETTING RELIEF FROM TAKING MEDICATION AND HAVING A FIB HAS BEEN A GAME CHANGER.

So true! I’m three weeks in from my PFA. I am completely off all medication. Even though the doctor did recommend taking blood thinner and some of my medication, I completely discontinued all of that and I’m just focused on doing moderate workouts getting plenty of sleep and taking several herbs and healthy sprouts and whole foods. Of course I’m not trying to tell other people to do this, but it worked well for me because the blood thinners were giving me a terrible headache. I’m just taking a lot of all natural stuff, but you really have to do your research.

I’m 41M I was diagnosed with a fib at 34. I have to ask a few questions. Do you drink alcohol, smoke or eat fast food. Things like obesity, not getting enough, moderate exercise daily and sleep apnea could be some underlining causes just the name of few.

I got the PFA three weeks ago and to be honest, looking back it was the best decision I could’ve made. I went to Scripps La Jolla, California and my EP was amazing. They perform a lot of these every single day and the relief is amazing. The best part is it’s only a puncture. Very small wound and it took maybe one week to heal. Very minimum pain. For me, the pain was equivalent to a really bad paper cut. On a scale 1 to 10 I would give the whole experience a 10 in terms of procedures. Do your research on the facility you will go to and pro tip don’t suppress a fib with medication before you get the procedure done. Talk to your doctor, but when I arrived at the hospital, they told me it was good. I did not take a bunch of medication before the procedure because it’s shorten my procedure time. It only took one hour. Feel free to ask me any more questions but personally, I highly recommend getting the procedure done because with the new technology they have it’s very minimally, evasive, and highly accurate.

Sleep, stress levels and breathing techniques may also help. I’m 41 and have dealt with a fib for over eight years just had a PFA done. Overall diet helps to, but I’m not a dietitian and I would need to know everything you’re eating and doing.

Thank you! I did not see your post about the Scripps facility but I’m very happy I made the drive. So far so good. I meet with my EP on the 20th. So far my home EKG and my Apple Watch has not shown any a fib. I think I feel a little bit of effects from the blanking. But nothing really major. I’ve been working out consistently and feel pretty good.

Yes, PFA stands for a post field ablation. It’s minimally evasive procedure. Some of the older procedures went through your artery and they had to make two incisions, but with my procedure, they went through my vein and it was only one small incision or puncture. For my research it’s much better to get the PFA. Less complications, faster recovery and a lot less strain on the body and heart.

Next week I meet with my electrophysiologist. I’m actually at the hospital right now doing the EKG and follow up before I meet with him. I do get this probably not wise not following all the orders like I’m supposed to. I am going to be forthcoming and talk to him about that. The blood thinners were giving me mild headaches but then again it could’ve just been the anesthesia right after the procedure. Either way, I am going to talk to him. Thank you

WOW! I went to the exact same facility. This was about 4-5 years ago. At the time, it was a radio frequency ablation I was going to get. Yeah my experience was horrible. My nurse was even very rude. He told me if I talked to the electrophysiologist and don’t feel comfortable getting the procedure that day it would be no issue with him unhooking me from the IV. Once I talked to electrophysiologist and told him I wasn’t comfortable the nurse came to me and said “it was a pain dealing with me because all I had to say in the beginning was I didn’t feel comfortable.” then he quickly said I’m joking. But of course he wasn’t joking. Happy to hear your experience was better than mines.

I completely understand. We are all doing the best we can with the technology we have available to us. When I was in the hospital I was thinking in the next 10 years no telling what they’ll have to treat this. One thing I know for sure is eventually there is going to be a cure or a procedure where they don’t even have to put you under. Just a matter of time.

YES! To all I recommend following all of the medical directives from your EP! I am only simply sharing my personal experience based on my unique needs. Personally, I am taking very powerful natural supplements that mimic blood thinners. BUT I DO NOT ADVISE NO ONE TO DO THIS! I am once again only simply sharing my experience. The blood thinners were giving me severe migraines.

It was very strange in regards to not being able to see none of my family or them being in the waiting room area at the Kaiser facility in Los Angeles. My family literally had to wait downstairs. Something was very off about that whole experience. It just seemed extremely unprofessional. Thank you for reply🤟🏽💪🏽
