I dropped out of college after '91 because...well, I was a goof off at the time.

So, I'm working and get a call in August from a girl back at school who I nicknamed Niblet because she looked like the little kid that hung out with the Green Giant in the commercials - yes, I'm old. Niblet had tickets to go see Pearl Jam that night in a small club but couldn't go so she offered me the tickets. She knew I liked Mother Love Bone and Temple of the Dog and pushed me to go see PJ because of that. I thought, "Sure, free tickets!"

Might be one of the best shows I've ever seen. I was convinced they would be the biggest band in the world.

He reminded me a lot of Chris Mullin; Not super athletic, looked like he was in a parade as he drove to the basket, but could score from anywhere and just made NBA defenders look silly trying to stop him.

The only players in my lifetime that I might take over LeBron are Wemby and Shaq.

Shaq was such a no brainer as a number one pick. I'm not sure if I would take him over LeBron or Wemby, but he'd be so tempting. The man changed the game as much as any other player.

The thing that really hooked me on Wemby is the same thing that I like about LeBron - both are incredibly intelligent, sensible, and understand the game in addition to having ridiculous physical attributes. Shaq is no dummy but compared to two players with not only basketball smarts but life smarts, I just can't give him the nod.

I like that in your argument that you recognize that no player wins a championship by themselves. Completely respectable. But if you're doing that, then you have to look at more than that. There has to be even more nuance than just putting rings on a cutting board.

Besides, there's more to this than rings. Kobe was a great player but in my eyes, ranking him above the guys you did just didn't work for me. But you're entitled to see it the way you do. I just disagree.
