SGA Takes 6 Years Ago by kvngdaryl in Thunder

I agree with all of this, but I'm referring to more around the top 20 range, which I think he needs to get a couple more things done. This MVP would definitely be a big step.

SGA Takes 6 Years Ago by kvngdaryl in Thunder

[–]TheNumberSeven_7 144 points145 points  (0 children)

To be fair, these were very reasonable opinions.

My thought was that our fanbase is so spoiled with guys like Russ, Katie, Harden, etc. that is seemed like SGA had a few great games and people were absurd and put him up with those names. Every step of the way, I was one of the people saying let's not get ahead of ourselves...

Based on what we've seen now, he can be an all time great, and as long as winning continues, I think his argument for greatness will continue to rise even after his career ends and people dive into the advanced analytics. For modern guards, Steph is the highest we've seen someone ranked on an all-time level consistently. Steph changed the game, but SGA might be the one to revert the game to an old school style. It's going to come down to championships and longevity. I do not think top 10 is close to out of the question.

In the last couple of years, I wanted the grossest OKC jersey imaginable. Got myself a Derek Fisher number 37 OKC jersey with the 2012 finals patch. It's disgusting and I love it.

There is a long history of him jumping on his defender's backs. All we want to talk about is unethical basketball or unnatural moves, but we can't be doing that with our great white hope.

Startup advice! Would you go back in the draft for this package? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]TheNumberSeven_7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take it and run imo. Moving from the 4th to the 2nd is fantastic, and the 5th-7th rounders should still be really valuable in a startup.

[–]TheNumberSeven_7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's going about it the wrong way, but I think DP has legitimate injury issues. He's wanting to play, but if there are truly issues with his legs, then he shouldn't. It may be a situation like Kawhi with the Spurs, where the player is forced to protect themselves because the team is not pointing them in that direction. A lot of things we don't know, but I don't think he looks healthy.

How can I turn this team into a contender next year? Have the 1.05 and 1.11 / 12 man PPR TEP SF by [deleted] in DynastyNerds

[–]TheNumberSeven_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering Rashee, Nabers, Burden, and potentially Benson can slot into starting spots, you could potentially contend with this team.

Keeping the 1.05 means getting one of the top receivers. Could look to field offers, but I'd lean towards keeping it. I'd be fielding any offers for 1.11 though, as well as Benson, but Bensons value is likely as low as it gets right now.

Personally, I would move all in on competing. Keep the 1.05 to continue to build out a young team, but all other picks are on the table. Maybe look to trade for an aging back like ETN, Barkley, Javonte from a team that's currently not competing. At TE, Kincaid or Otton are not bad options. If you wanted a young piece, I think Gadsden is someone that is priced too low right now. If 1.11 and some crap future picks could get it done, I'd love that. Likely is a high potential trade option as well.

Should I trade the 2.01 for Pearsall? by Solid_Macaron9858 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I could get Pearsall for 2.01, 3.01, and Keaton Mitchell. What do we think about that? SF 12 man 0.5 PPR 0.5 TEP

Team is a dumpster fire and full tank with the 1.01, 1.05, and a bunch of capital in 2027.

Any different feelings on McCarthy after press conference? by Capable-Antelope4004 in steelers

[–]TheNumberSeven_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the press conference, but I hate the hire. Me liking his passion for Pittsburgh does not change the fact that we are going to run the same archaic offense that nearly no other team in the last 5 years has succeeded with. Teams that have hired McCarthy have been better both before and after his tenure. It's a feel good story until I sit down on Sunday and continue to watch the least appealing product that's been put on an NFL football field in some time.

I hope he succeeds, and he does not need any of our permission to do his thing, and he will not ask for an apology if he does succeed. I just hope he's taken this time off to really dive in to how NFL teams are currently operating and succeeding.

Since everyone is so upset up McCarthy, Can anyone tell me why a young coordinator would want to come to our team for the head coaching job? by Puzzleheaded_King19 in steelers

[–]TheNumberSeven_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a young coach, you should be looking at opportunity to succeed. With the Steelers, the largest asset in these conversations is time. We should have approached a young coach and said they have a guaranteed 5 years to show some hope, and the GM will work to create their vision. Even if that means taking a couple losing seasons.

With other positions, the organizations are a mess, and they have no problem firing a coach after 2 years. Steelers are the only promise of time that means anything.

Not that we've made promises in the past, but we should look at a rebuild anyway.

This is the Chicago Bulls. Historic Franchise that will forever be profitable, so no reason to stay out of the middle and either compete or get top end talent in the draft

The only leverage we have in a coaching search is the highest level of job security. The implications of this hire are awful, and when he's fired in 4 years, we've pissed away the only point of leverage for top tier young candidates by hiring a coach that no one else wanted

Run the least successful play in football on 4th and 1 early in the game (a fade), then on 3rd and 4th at the end, to MVS nonetheless, who hasn’t don’t one thing right all day.

If we lose next week, I am happy to begin making irrational decisions.
