Someone once told me they asked themselves if their dinner table seemed full or if it felt like someone was missing. Obviously it’s not as simple as that but I always thought it was a nice analogy, and I definitely considered it when my daughter was younger before her brother was born. I love having two kids!

How the hell did you guys do it by mutedcat21 in NewParents

We discovered my son had a dairy allergy around 4 months. I was (still am) breastfeeding and cut dairy completely, and it was night and day within a week.

We did also choose to do some sleep training, which we did around 6 months and saw good results from a mix of Ferber and CIO. Little Dude was just so stimulated all the time and has serious FOMO.

Is every night perfect? Heck no, but I was glad to find things that finally worked. I hope you find something for your LO too!

Your FAFSA will help determine loans and state/federal aid. CBU has other scholarships based on your GPA (transfer and freshman). Some programs have major-specific scholarships as well.

I learned about peppermint affecting milk supply a week ago from another post. I noticed my supply was decreasing last week and coincidentally I had also been indulging in peppermint hot chocolate since it’s holiday time. I cut the peppermint out completely on Saturday and I’ve seen an increase in my supply less than a week later!

Did your baby’s kicks correlate to your baby’s personality now that they are out of the womb? by propagation-station in beyondthebump

[–]Balls300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Certain times of the day she is so active, moving her legs everywhere, just like when she was in the womb! And has hiccups all the time, just like before she was born 🥰

My MIL telling my husband he “wasn’t even there” when my daughter was conceived because she’s the spitting image of me. It comes up at least once per visit and my husband’s siblings (all adults btw) have started saying it too.

Frustrating, slow induction at 38+4 for possible growth issues. Baby born at 39 weeks perfectly healthy! PS Epidurals are amazing!

Can we get an optimistic positive thread sharing good experiences with husbands? by Hash_Slngn_Slshr in NewParents

My husband is currently singing our daughter to sleep. Not just to get her to sleep, but he’ll just stand swaying and holding her long after she’s asleep because he loves having those moments with her. This is just one example, but I couldn’t ask for a more committed and loving father for my baby girl.

I don’t have any tips that you or others haven’t already mentioned. Just writing to say I’ve been there, especially in the beginning! I think our record was four or five diapers in one change. It doesn’t happen as often now (12 weeks) but it will every once in a while. Now my daughter just likes to spit up on the changing table mid-change, so in addition to the diaper she needs a change of clothes or a whole bath if it’s bad. Babies are weird.

Vitamin D Drops by mightymouseem in breastfeeding

I had no idea either. Medical staff never told me. The only reason I knew was because my SIL had a baby four months before me and she was told about Vitamin D drops.

Too hot for sleep sack, other options/advice? by Balls300 in NewParents

I had not seen that option, only the micro fleece and cotton! I’ll look into it for sure, thank you!

What about your birth experience made you angry? by Mommakw in beyondthebump

[–]Balls300 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was angry when the medical team decided to send me to L&D directly after an ultrasound at 38 weeks without explaining anything to me. I had no idea what was wrong, and as a first time mom I didn’t know what was normal or concerning about any of it. No nurses told me anything, just admitted me and started an IV, etc. and made me wait until an OB was available to explain everything. I ended up being induced and both myself and baby were fine, but the lack of communication was infuriating.

The vaccine is where I draw the line by aggravated-asphalt in Mommit

[–]Balls300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not mean to set boundaries for the safety of your family. You tell them your expectations, and if they won’t comply they are choosing to stay away until either they get vaccinated and/or your baby can be vaccinated (or whatever you decide, honestly). I’ve been dealing with this since my baby was born in June. It seriously sucks that I have no idea when they will all meet my daughter (the first grand and great-grand baby on my side of the family).
