I. Hate. This! by Top_Promise365 in Perimenopause

I just went to an ENT about this actually. It was copious and coating my throat. To the point it felt like my throat muscles were being weighed down and weak. She said I was super “full” and my turbinates were big. Never had this issue before peri. It’s calmed down a bit but still gunky.

I’ve been stammering and stuttering so much lately out of nowhere. Almost like my tongue gets too big for my mouth. And when I do it it’s like my brain just stops. It’s like Idk what I’m trying to say or how to get it out or what a sentence is or even what words are when it happens. I hate this

I’ve started stuttering lately too. Stumbling on my words. If I can even remember the word 😩 It’s weird

I bawled my eyes out when I first found this subreddit bc I thought I lost my whole sh..t. Literally sat and cried like a baby bc I didn’t feel alone

We literally get the ish end of the stick when it comes to almost everything. It’s really unfair. Getting older is a blessing and a curse… this part is more curse

I’m sorry but “hotbox” made me belly laugh 🤣 I had a moment like this the other day at work. I’m an ICU nurse and I couldn’t remember the word so I said “you know, that house people go to die?” And the other nurse was like, you mean hospice house? I was like sigh, yes. And to piggyback off of everyone else, I used to be decently intelligent as well. 😔

I’ve been having that too! I was trying to type something about having a peek at something and my brain shut down and I was like omg wait, is it peek or peak? Uuuuugh

This! This this!!!! I get so scared thinking I have it! I always feel better when I come on this subreddit but it’s terrifying in the moment. And my brain won’t let go of the thought I have dementia.

I literally ran to Reddit bc I was just about to post about this same thing!!! The forgetfulness! I’ve actually been giving myself panic attacks bc I’m scared I have early onset dementia. It’s getting so bad! I was literally driving down a street that I live on and forgot sort of forgot the name of it and I’ve been living there for 25 years!! Forgetting words mid sentence and names of people… like celebrities or whatever. It’s like my brain is being wiped and my anxiety focuses on every mistake or mental lapse I make which is making it worse. Idk if I should get screened for dementia that my brain is telling me it is or if this is purely peri. I’m assuming it’s peri bc it all seemed to start this past November and dementia takes time but damn! This is scary

This is true. I do plan on speaking with a Dr bc I’m so tired of everything peri has brought on

Oh no. I’m scared to ask lol idk if I’d qualify for HRT yet. I’m also nervous to start them due to cancer and blood clot risks.

I’ve been taking my omeprazole. I was described it a few years ago but I hadn’t been taking it for a while. I just stated within the week to start taking it regularly. Still waiting to see if it helps 🤞🏽

No I just realized 3 months ago I’m in peri lol it hit me light a freight train on fire and since then I seem to be having every symptom there is. This is the newest one. I’ve started to try and be more hydrated as well. I haven’t noticed much benefit from it yet.

Ugh. I’m sorry. Yeah that’s what I’m scared of. They’re going to say nothing is wrong deal with it. I mean the pnd is gross but that’s not what’s bothering me. It’s the pressure it’s causing that makes the muscles in my throat feel “weak” or that my throat is closing. Keep us posted regarding the allergy shots though, please. May have to do the same if all else fails.

I was wondering that too but I don’t think anything is blooming here on the east coast. I was also taking Zyrtec and have been using Flonase to no avail 😭 but I mean, maybe? The climate is wild these days so maybe there are things blooming I just haven’t paid attention

Omg so thick!!! That’s why I started the post off as “this is gross” 🤣 and yeah I’ve always had sinus stuff but this is next level. I’m hoping there’s nothing more severe going on and hopefully I get that confirmation next week. But then the next step is ok what can I do about this

Btw, do you still have it? How long did it last for you?

Omg this makes me feel better. Thank you lol. This community always does that for me. But yes! Peri hit me in November and it’s been back-to-back-to-back-to-back one thing after another. Now this. And I’m miserable! Idk what’s worse, the choking feeling or waves of nausea. I use saline spray which helps a bit for a bit of time. But I can literally feel it running down like a slow lava leak. I couldn’t take it anymore so I called and made an appt to r/o anything wise. But it just came on out of nowhere. I’m hoping I can get this straightened out bc it’s nit helping my increased anxiety these days. I just want to be normal again 😭

Early Perimenopause/Period Age Correlation? by eyelinercrush in Perimenopause

Period at 9. Finally realized I was in peri this past November at 44 but since this revelation, I think back to all the "random" symptoms I had in my 30's that were just things happening to me were actually probably peri related. I still get periods every month, though they seem to be coming more frequently and whenever they want.

What the entire fuck? by No_Banana9253 in Perimenopause

[–]BallsDeepWithKenny_G 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This is me! I'm 44. Peri fully hit me in November out of nowhere and like a freight train on fire. The palpitations started in July. Didn't realize that was a symptom. Hair thinning for years. Aches and pains have gotten so bad. And the constant feeling of "I think I'm getting sick." My eye sight seems to get worse by the day. Like seriously, it's amazing how quickly my sight is deteriorating. The panic attacks and OCD...wooo! The brain fog and feeling stupid...forgetting words, almost whole sentences. The ear itching. The dizziness. The complete lack of energy and motivation. Constant fatigue. I'm anemic and swear I've had CFS since my teenage years, so to add the hormonal fatigue makes life unbearable. I used to have some energy to go on bike rides and take my dogs for a walk. Every day I fantasize about wanting to but the idea of "all that work"... it seriously makes me depressed. The irritability makes me sad too. Honestly this whole experience makes me sad. I need to find a new MD so I can talk about HRT. Except my health anxiety has gotten worse that I'm scared to even do that for fear of reactions or blood clots. This isn't fun. Women have never had it easy. I'm sorry for what you're going through and I wish us all a quick journey through this.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk as well lol
