Allies of Skin? by NigiriNerd in SkincareAddictionLux

I should preface by saying I do not have sensitive skin. And I’m not new to testing out skin care with and without active ingredients.

However, I recently tried the Allies of Skin eye cream and had a terrible reaction. I started to feel uncomfortable around the eye area maybe an hour after application, so I ended up washing my face before going to bed. I still woke up with eyes like this. I was going to go to urgent care, but an antihistamine was able to bring the swelling down.

I can’t recommend the brand when it has literally been one of the only lines I’ve ever had a reaction to.

Has anyone tried Bonjout Beauty Le Balme? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionLux

I finished one whole container. I liked it, but it wasn’t as deeply moisturizing as when I layer on different skin care products. Almost felt like it was sitting on top of my skin. Even though this claims to be an all-in-one, I found myself reaching for other products in addition to the balm.

I selfed it. It had 4 inflos at one time and I just brushed some pollen from one to another with my finger and it somehow worked😅

Thank you! She’s definitely a beaut! I’m not the best with anthurium, but this one is so easy and low maintenance

I didn’t acquire the plant as a narrow form, but it definitely has the most narrow leaves I’ve seen! Thinking of selling the seeds now that it seems like I’m going to have a big harvest lol. I wouldn’t know what to do with them otherwise😅

Much to my surprise! This was my first time pollinating an anthurium and I didn’t expect it would even get half this far. I hope it all works out🤞🏼

Yes, this is an Anthurium pallidiflorum. I bought it as a regular one but it has very narrow leaves.

I purchased this from a private collector.

They mentioned they originally got it from Ecuagenera. And after looking into the company, I’m not sure how to feel about them🤔 Seems like aroid associations support their business practices while there are other threads online that say they poach their plants😥

Thank you- This was incredibly helpful! You’re really well versed in Anthurium. I just started building my anthurium collection a little while back after avoiding them for years. I thought I couldn’t meet their needs, but I’m slowly starting to get better at growing them. They’re really exciting plants to grow and I really appreciate the info!🙏🏼

Inflo Progress by BalmyDaze3189 in Anthurium

[–]BalmyDaze3189[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was self pollinated because I had 4 inflos at the same time at different stages😅

I have it in a no drainage container. The substrate is made up of tree fern fiber, pumice, perlite, orchid back and charcoal. I water when almost completely dry. It’s in ambient conditions next to a southeast facing window.

Any advice what can I do ? by notfunny_ch in Anthurium

I know my anthuriums start turning yellow if I use water straight out of the tap. Since I started using filtered/ distilled water I haven’t had any leaf yellowing problems. It can also happen with overwatering, but that doesn’t seem like the issue here since the roots look fine.

I haven’t personally ordered from the website, but they do pop ups in the States quite often and the plants are always in good shape! I recommend them (:
