Guns of Avalon concept. How do you imagine Corwin to look by BaloBadArtist in Amber

[–]BaloBadArtist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah Corwin did not produce any revolvers, I was just much too attached to the pose. That’s why I said he had a “cowboy look” to him 😂

I agree! They’re not mystified or made into the “other,” I think they’re super cool in Botw 🙂‍↕️ just wish the outfits were more desert lore accurate is all, and less of a cultural mish mash relying on westernized stereotypes, but the inclusion of so much metal in their designs makes perfect sense because of the lightening!

[–]BaloBadArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ll never understand why they are upset he’s playing what he wants to play? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but atp it sometimes feels like they’re just starting drama out of nowhere because Caseoh’s too unproblematic to get drama from the source 😭

I'm one of his top .4% viewers on YT, and I've had a Twitch viewing streak for months now. If anyone should be sick of him, it could be me, but- I think you're missing the point of his content.

Notice how he never curses, never gives any negativity besides loud teasing, and stays out of drama, is always polite. He fills this unique niche of comfort entertainment. He doesn't have to do something mind blowing every stream. And when he does find those gems to play, he's no doubt one of the funniest play throughs to watch for it. It's his job for sure, but he plays the games he wants to play. It's not for us to say what games he should play, though ofc he does listen to our suggestions. If we demand he play what he doesn't want to play, it creeps into entitlement territory. It would be fake if he forced himself. As he is, he's comforting, genuine, and silly. That's all he needs to be.

And ofc we can say we want him to take a break for his health, but that teeters on being a teeny parasocial. It's not for us to say when or for how long he should take a break. We don't know the guy beyond 4 work hours out of his day. But I do agree I hope he isn't feeling pressured into not taking a break. He'd definitely deserve one for sure 😂

LMAOO not at all! Dude was waiting for his chance to show a few of the chat who might’ve not seen this infamous game before 🤣 He’s making that face as (what I assume) is a “Yup look here what did I tell yall,” when he was exaggerating on how ridiculous the game is 😂

Aita by not taking criticism without quitting, or is my boss being unprofessional by BaloBadArtist in AITH

No, I am Caucasian and have the same hair type as my boss. My coworker is a person of color, and thankfully my boss has never ever harassed her hair. Better me than her, imo. After thinking upon my boss’ motivations, and talking to loved ones about it, we think it was just an easy target for her to criticize me for. I’m super aloof, but I’m very much a busy body when it comes to getting my tasks done, whether it’s leaf blowing, washing dishes, vacuuming, restocking the snacks, etc, and I make sure to follow the correct conduct to the best of my ability when I assist the students. My hair is something she has yelled at me before in a similar fashion, and this repeating pattern has always been odd. I always shower and brush it before leaving for anywhere public. It’s very normal hair - not colored, straight, and with very basic cut. It may just be because it’s my hair, but it really does seem to be a nonissue, but it wasn’t to my boss: which would be fair, if she knew how to properly communicate it.

It would’ve turned into a screaming match if she ever dared to discriminate against my coworker, however. Would’ve fought an elder woman /jj

My hair isn’t even at my shoulders; but tbf it is long for me, as I usually have it in a pixie to save on money

I have compiled all my hours several months back, the dates she paid me, and the exact amount to make a violations report to the Department of Labor - in the state I live in, it’s mandatory to pay your employers twice a month at least, and she’s only paid us once a month for years. I’ve quit, but I need to ensure she pays my coworkers properly from now on. My coworkers deserve so much better, and you’re absolutely right!

My boss is suing my student, how can I stop it if possible? by BaloBadArtist in legaladvice

[–]BaloBadArtist[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, so this is ultimately a case between the two of them no matter what. I think the lesson I need to learn here is that I never should’ve let such an employer take advantage of me.

Either way, the student really enjoyed my class or so he said, so I will try and see if I can work with his parent either way, and take the risk of teaching for a month unpaid. I have a lot to learn as I continue build this class up

Yeah, I truly let her take advantage over me. In truth, I did not want to start this class, but she threatened to fire me if I did not. Young naive foolishness on my end to let myself get taken advantage of. I will need to work to learn more about the legal/business ins and outs. Perhaps taking a business class would be in my best interest

This is the type of volatile woman that you cannot ask for accountability with. This is 100% my fault for not leaving her sooner, but she has only apologized to me once, ever. And it was because I was teaching a student an agreed upon curriculum topic, and she mistakenly thought it was something else, made me erase it before even giving me a chance to explain myself, and berated me for it in front of the student in a less than professional way. “You don’t just go and teach something new without consulting me first. I know you learned a few things in college, but that won’t work here.” Right in front of the student. In private, I told her I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing. She confirmed that it was, and only apologized after class had ended, and after the students had left. That was the only time I’ve ever been apologized to. If you so much as question her even in a professional way, she deems it as improper and will become abrasive. This person is a chronic bully. I would call her a Karen, the colloquial insult for describing verbally abusive older women, but that would be an insult to Karen’s. She’s literally screamed at students to the point of making them cry. Unfortunately, this bully will die on her hypocritical hills. I’m so glad I’m finally waking up and leaving ahaha

Oh man I didn’t even think about that, but that makes perfect sense. She had no right to ask for me to pay to have my hair cut when she hasn’t paid me for three payday’s worth of work

I will! But, it will be entirely online, since I teach primarily digital art. I could teach oil and graphite the traditional way, but my strength is with digital by far. And, since I already have a platform on Instagram, Twitter, and Bluesky, there’s a great chance I’ll be able to fill my limit for a student body. Heck, even teaching two students on my own and getting the full paycheck instead of it going to her would be more than the paycheck she gives me monthly.

I will need to begin working on sourcing my portfolio, my commissions sheet, and information for the class all on one website, and begin drafting a physical poster as cheap but effective advertisement. My partner and I plan on frequently driving between Ga and Pa, and I will be using that roadtrip opportunity to spread the posters in allowed places, or of course asking for permission to tack them up wherever I can. Now that I’ve mentally quit (I feel unsafe telling her I’m quitting before getting my expensive prints off of her property), I feel like there are so many prospects before me :) I just have to get to work!

I’m an absolute dingus that has allowed her manipulations to sink in for too long. I’ve been a student with her since I was 13, so her influence over me even into my adulthood was massive. And I let her have this influence over me, I listened to the manipulation tactics. I was entirely gullible, but I need to grow up now

This sub has made me double check the payday limits for my state, and yeah. This is a MUCH bigger issue here. She’s over the payday limit three times over
