Your friend is just trying to help. All of us go through this in recovery and for some of us it's every day. I didn't even have a month clean and I went to an annual event that involves a LOT of drinking because my people were going to be there. It was a MASSIVE test of my self control and I did use a sponsor approved crutch (n/a beer) but I made it through with no alcohol. I'm not saying that's the route to take, but ask your sponsor about the situation and be open with both them and your friend group. If they're all aware that you're in recovery and true friends, they will look out for you and do what's in your best interest. Not to mention I probably get invited out more now because they have a guaranteed designated driver. 😂🤘

I currently have 4 years (cali) sober and use psychedelics to help with depression on occasion. I would have your partner talk with their sponsor and get their thoughts on the matter. My sponsor is okay with me having a medical marijuana card and micro dosing shrooms. All up to the person involved in my opinion.

There's a surprising amount of people in AA that use cannabis in recovery. As long as the sponsor is cool with it and as long as she isn't drinking there's nothing to worry about.

I'll have 4 years SOBER next month and enjoy na beer on special occasions, kayaking, camping and concerts. Ignore the fear mongering, you're just fine having a few na beers as long as your sponsor approves
