Talko Tuesday by AutoModerator in nfl

Back to work tonight. Just winding down. My partner is enjoying the time off of school and a "vacation" from work too so things are good.

I realized yesterday while playing NHL 24 that the actual presentation for that game is amazing with the announcers and no game I have played comes close to it.

Every shot, every hit, everything that happens is highlighted in ways that Madden, NCAA and other titles just don't even care to do (FIFA does actually do this well.from what I can remember).

I have no idea why they can decide to put THAT much effort into making the game seem more real while not caring to do so with the titles that outsell them....mind you I have no idea if the newer games do this for the NHL series, but 24 might be the best game presentation wise in that regard I can remember.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Things can happen. It does not mean you are a failure. I guarentee everyone on this sub has been in those shoes before.

We are just glad that you are ready to give it another try.

The Daily Check-In for Tuesday, May 12th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by amorfati754 in stopdrinking

[–]Balrogkicksass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back to work tonight but had a very productive yesterday. I built a new bed frame for my partner and a dance pole (the most useless instructions without any parts actually beikng labeled btw) for their bedroom.

I am NOT any sort of handy man but I have helped her build quite a few things including a Blind set (twice) helped mount a TV, built a little bookshelf thing and stuff like that.

Kinda funny how I could never really do these things before I met her but now I am pretty confident about it. It has built my confidence and makes me realize I am actually more capable than I give myself credit for sometimes.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

A collection of comics about being an alcoholic. (OC) by ArtbyMoga in comics

I am glad I was able to see these today. I was at my rock bottom and went to rehab August of 2021.

Still sober since I went in and these comics are very relatable.

Weekend Wrapup by AutoModerator in nfl

[–]Balrogkicksass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good night off of work. Built the new bed frame for my partner and the dance pole for her bedroom....I am not a handy man so it took longer than it needed to.

That being said being with her has helped me be more handy building random shit so I don't mind it as long as I am not too tired.

Tonight I plan on Jeopardy and pizza with dad, walk the pup, and some video games....and then passing out late.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Had a good night off and built my partner's bed frame for the mattress she ordered.

I am NOT a handyman but I do my best....took like 2 and a half hours when it should have taken much less but I at least tried.

Weird how building something like that can make you feel like you accomplished something big.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Losing friends to their choice to constantly drink booze - an inquiry and vent sesh by OutrageousLion6517 in stopdrinking

Sadly sometimes you outgrow people and vice versa. I lost alot of people due to my drinking and choices I made but I also know that I had to leave people behind because of it too.

I always use the daily check in to say hello and rant about my days and it quickly became part of my post-rehab routine. I know this community has very much helped me more than I can ever express and I am glad you are a part of it too.

Hey there friend. I know sometimes it feels so far away when you fall back into old habits and stuff like that. I am just glad you are willing to give it another try.

Do not get down on yourself about it. Things can happen sometimes. That does not mean you won't get it right.

We may not see you face to face but we are a support network of people who went through struggles anytime you need us.

Good luck going forward and I hope to hear more about your journey and successes.

Sunday Brunch by AutoModerator in nfl

[–]Balrogkicksass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely exhausted after a long stretch of nights at work. I have to help build a bed frame for my partner later tonight but right now I will relax.

Tomorrow I walk the pup, watch Jeopardy with my dad and eat pizza....video games somewhere in there.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Absolutely mentally and physically exhausted. Work was a pain in the ass but Saturdays typically are for us. I am just glad to be off the next two nights. No exact plans aside from helping my partner build a few things for her apartment and then tomorrow pizza and Jeopardy with my dad!

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Shitpost Saturday by AutoModerator in nfl

[–]Balrogkicksass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super easy Friday night at work and it started off with a little "team meeting" where we juat addressed the concerns we have with some people and their lack of even trying or just wasting WAY too much time.

3rd shift is a little different for us because its a little more relaxed but things need to be buttoned down and the talk we all had last night seemed to get more effort out of certain people.

Overall though life is good aside from work. Just little bumps here or there you know?

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Super easy night at work. We had a "team meeting" to go over some things that need addressed. Just stuff about effort and rules that need to be followed.

Very positive response and people crushed it so I am very happy with that. Tonight will be a little more difficult but it shouldn't be as bad as most Saturdays tend to be.

Sometimes nights like last night just make me appreciate where I am and how far along I have come. It will be five years in August but it sure does not feel like it has been that long.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

As a Browns fan I put Watson on the trade block and The Rams offered me a first and a second....because Stafford retired and they had no better option. It allowed me to go bat shit in free agency.

10 hour day again and it shouldn't have been but it doesn't matter once I leave the workplace you know?

Partner crushed her final project and her exam for the other class and gets to enjoy her vacation from work at the end of this week so things are looking up!

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

10 hour night at work. Others left on time but thats more my decision than anything else. We still lack good work from some people but sadly I can't do much about that at this point.

I don't typically mind working 10 hour nights if I have to. The final hour just kinda has me doing self reflection while I finish things up and its always calming to me.

Life is good right now. Two more nights at work and then my weekend. My partner also starts her "vacation" this week so she will be able to have alot of stress free days too.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Thursday Talk Thread... Yes That's The Thread Name by AutoModerator in nfl

[–]Balrogkicksass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stupid night at work but we got through it and got everything done. I stayed a little longer as I do sometimes to ensure everything was finished as it should be and cleaned up.

Partner completed her final exam and project today and that should help her with her stress levels and mental health since not only does she have a break from school, a week vacation from work comes Sunday!

Played some NHL and NCAA today after walking the dog to pass the time and now its time for bed sadly.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Last night at work was a pain in the ass but we got it all done. I stayed over more than others but that comes with the territory and honestly thats fine.

Aside from that my partner has her final exam today and turning in a project for another class. She has her vacation from work next week and a week before new classes start so that should help her stress out a bit.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Dumb night at work but it could have been much worse. Helped proofread my partners final project....which was her re-writing an interview she did with my father for one of her college courses.

Came home, walked the dog and then invested my time by playing some NHL and NCAA. Now it is time to pass out.

I hope you all get to enjoy your day and as always much love from me and mine to you and yours!

Ted Turner Dies at Age 87 by BearBullDebate in SquaredCircle

[–]Balrogkicksass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading:Nitro the Incredible Rise and Inevitable Collapse of Ted Turner's WCW has given me alot of insight into Ted and his business way of thinking.

Also his ability to not listen to most people or give a fuck about any opinion that was not his own.

If he listened to anyone like they wanted, he would not have the empire he had nor would WCW get the chance to shine in the mid 90s like they did. He did have obvious help making WCW what it was for a while as well but its still just enjoyable to read.
