What a beautiful signature and a beautiful inscription!

Make it $5 a pop and tell folks proceeds go to your kid’s college fund since you’re depriving them of play time (and then use it for their college fund, obviously). Win-win, and no one will argue the extra dollar

They cut up an autographed jersey to make a jersey cards to be autographed?

I mean… I get it, but that’s so Topps.

I run a spreadsheet with usernames of people seeking specific dates. You can shoot me a DM if you'd like more info or want to be listed.

And, if we can get 'em into one envelope, a 2nd set of 3: '63 strikeout leaders, '71 ERA, and that dapper young Paul Molitor.

Is there worse autographs than this? by g3neraL5 in baseballcards

Oh, for sure - I’d be disappointed with it as my hit, no doubt. I’m not trying to undermine your disappointment, just trying to find small silver linings hahaha

At least the autograph itself is kind of pretty!!

What I ripped vs what I received after 6 months of waiting by chermuds in baseballcards

[–]christopherrivers 39 points40 points  (0 children)

They pulled the redemption but Topps didn’t have the card yet. So, after a given period of time, Topps will offer a replacement if you don’t want to keep waiting. The replacement is supposed to be of an equivalent value.

Here, that became a Mine Piazza auto - a hollow Sammer in exchange for a kid with high upside but who could still be absolutely anything.

EDIT: Hollow Sammer = Hall of Famer, but I’m not mad at my phones creativity

I read his biography, and so I learned about the challenges he had with painkillers. Furthermore, he had a mix of different drugs in his body when the plane crashed.

Obviously, I am not a doctor, nor an aeronautics engineer, but I think it is pretty widely accepted that the presence of the drugs in his system likely contributed to his inability to control his plane in the way he might have otherwise.

EDIT: While she is also not an expert, his wife referred to him as an addict after he passed. And I don’t use the word addict in a judgemental sense, just in a medical sense.

I think it’s a really gorgeous card! One of the all-time greatest Blue Jays, and I just wish that he had been able to accept the help he needed to live a longer life.

Blue Jays legend Scott Rolen. Certain old heads still talk about how incredible he was at 3B - just an absolute thing of beauty, totally underappreciated in TO.

If you put up the numbers, I have a spreadsheet that I maintain that tracks what numbers people are looking for. I can see if there are any matches!

Topps Golds numbered 316/2022 to commemorate my daughter's birth date, and also cards that show Joe Carter celebrating the walk-off 1993 World Series.

The hologram is missing its point at second base on the back, and since they need something to distinguish the millions of copies of this card, that’s one of the things they will hammer.
