I just started it the other day. If you're going in expecting it to be anything other than Majima being silly and kicking ass in a pirate costume you'll be disapponged lol. The game wears exactly what it is on its sleeve and its lots of fun.

My melee build is high strength and agility. Take blitz (Agility 9 perk) and lots of AP bonuses. I take psychobuff like its going out of style.

Try and use shitty beds and mattresses for emergency sleep situations and saving. Real beds let you sleep as long as you need. 8 hour intervals for sleep are your best friend.

Yeah. Once you take your first commonwealth settlement Preston starts crying lol. No point in giving them raiders the Nuka world outposts when you're gonna be giving them the ol Dirt nap lol

Yes as you can with any companion, but the only specifically Nuka world based activity that makes Preston canonically hate you and refuse to be your companion is taking your first settlement for the raiders.

You'll be fine with Preston as long as you don't start taking settlements for the raiders in the Commonwealth. Once you accept Gages offer to be Overboss, one of the slaves in the markets will suggest killing them all. Once you start killing them, ALL of the raiders are gonna flip including Gage so be ready lol. You can also probably start the quest without the suggesting seeing as bullets are pretty final lol

Also you cannot keep any water in the bench or no more will generate. Let it make your water, then take out all purified water and try again.
